"Why not Arizona? Why not us? Why can't we win it all?''
"Playing here is the closest thing to heaven on earth..." - Brian Rolle
To be honest, the coaches are better at evaluating talent than any service. And although I trust them to do their job. That being said, the one thing I did notice about the three defensive 3* guys was their ability to tackle. Especially Jayme Thompson, Sprinkle is a really good tackler as well for a guy his size. As for Lewis Neal I do know he is very good at not being blocked and has a really good pursuit. It's just too bad the film quality is so poor. I am sure Withers saw him in person a few times and knows a lot about him.
I think as far as Ez Elliot goes, I heard that he is fast, and with coaching(better technique) he could be really really fast. Sub 4.4 fast
I talked to one of his coaches the day he committed. Was very surprised with the offer. Said he strong as hell but not good enough or big enough to play at OSU. Not even close to how good chase was.
I think it was Bill Conley who said: Don’t get hung up on a players star rating, look and see who has offered if you really want to know how good they are. A lot of times a kid doesn’t get the high rating because of exposure, etc. There are many cases when a 3 star player will get offered by scores of top programs over kids that are rated much higher at the same position. The star rating is for the fans bragging rights, nothing else IMO.
_ichigan Football would be Minnesota without The Great State of Ohio!! O-H! I-O!
Pretty interesting article today on SI detailing the star ranking coming out of high school of the expected first round draft picks. Pretty interesting that 14 first round projections were 3 stars or less coming out of H.S.
