So devoted that he lied to the NCAA and landed both himself and the university in the NCAA dog house. And embarrased tOSU graduates (especially living in SEC country) in the process. Can't get on board with this sentiment personally.

Time will heal those wounds and he will eventually be remembered only for being a great coach who made a dumb decision. I personally hope the program will be that successful again, soon. Yea Ohio!!!

Strangely unBuckeye of you. I'm in SEC country (ATL) and even my friends here laugh now at discounted tattoos and selling things that belonged to them, and a coach that made a mistake... vs the decade-long debotchery at Miami, the PSU scandal, and several others that make OSUs problem pale in comparison. And you can't get on board looking at Tressel's decade long body of work?

He lied for us, and sacrificed his own career. I doubt you would sacrifice as much.

Yep, Tressel fell on the sword for a shoddy compliance and AD department, and how clowns like Doug Archie and Gene Smith are still employed is beyond me.
Tressel flat out fell on the sword and covered a lot of sins and took a big hit for OSU, outside of the few things he did.
The original advice he got was not good either.
I still remember that first presser when he tried to step forward and Gene Smith pushed him back and said no comment, that was all I can remember how they would not let him say his part.
9-1 against Michigan, 3 BCS title games, one BCS national title and 7 Big Ten titles in 10 years, Tressel brought OSU football back to elite status and made us a now program again.

Think Tressel allowed TP too much rope--and he paid for it. But he seems like an upright guy to me. He made mistakes. (I'm sure I've made more.)
He gave the fans ten great years. I'd be honored to shake his hand.

I am all in and have always been. I live here in Florida which is SEC country and proudly fly my Buckeye flag many days and it does not have to be game day. Others need to get over it. Tressell is paying his dues and so are the buckeyes while others (miami did a lot more and signed 31 in this years class) have not served thier penalties yet.
JT may have left but we now have Urban and I let the people in Florida know that daily. It is a great day to be a buckeye--Everyday is a great day to be a proud buckeye.
