Stock down on Brady Hoke is wishful thinking. They have 4 losses, 3 of which are against top 5 teams, and in the other their starting QB was injured. They are on target to bring in a 2nd top 10 recruiting class and have found their QB for the next 2 years.

I'm talking about his decision-making (having a 2-QB system for "The Game" is a recipe for disaster as I said all week prior to The Game, and as John Cooper, Joe Germaine and Stan Jackson can attest to), his unwillingness to let go of his buddy Al Borges, and the fact that the 2011 season was a mirage. Do you really believe Michigan was a top-10 team in 2011. They were fortunate to play a bad Ohio State team in Ann Arbor (and barely won) and were fortunate to play a mediocre Va-Tech team in the Sugar Bowl. Even with all that said, they were still not Big Ten champs. Yet, everyone was touting Michigan as a team on the rise in 2012. Hoke's stock definitely fell.

Lol...I totally forgot about good old Bob Asmussen. Thanks for that.

    Go Buckeyes!!!

I know right. It's one thing to do your homework and make an educated opinion. It's another thing to do absolutely no homework and pull something out of your rear end. No one with any serious knowledge of football viewed Michigan as a national championship contender in 2012. It's unfortunate to see some of the people who have AP votes, Heisman votes, etc.

  • They're not officially in the B1G yet. Still got anothe season before that!

  • Jerry Kill is aweful. He isn't even in Glenn Mason's hemisphere. Minnesota could be good, all they need to do is commit to being so; hire some coaches.

  • If Urban didnt win COY after 12-0 (coming off 6-7) the award should be scrapped anyway. Luckily I dont see Meyer being motivated by awards as much as wins. Ill take that any day. As for BOB and this "poor Penn State" crap, it a joke. They lost at home to a MAC also ran and Virgina, how is that a great job? Lets see how he does when his talent level dips a year or two from now. Big deal, he lost a few starters like EVERY team in the NCAA and the record was steady. PSU is Americas martyr and it sickens me.

Got to agree that Hoke probably should have been holding steady. Need to see what his team does next year in the post-Robinson year.

  • What is so bad with Jerry Kill, I don't get why you are so down on him.
He takes over for trainwreck Brewster, goes 3 and 9 his first year.
Year 2- He is 6-6 and going to a bowl game, despite losing his starting QB and having to start a true Freshmen at QB.

I don't think you can say he is bad until his 3rd or 4th year, I think you're just bitter about Mason, which I agree was a stupid move by Minnesota, but time to move on and give Jerry a shot. If they don't keep getting better than you're right.

You need to analyze Penn State's roster a little deeper. Penn State was 9-4 in 2011 and was 8-4 this season. Penn State had the best passing QB in the Big Ten in McGloin, and one of the best defenses led by a pair of seniors in DT Jordan Hill and LB Mike Mauti. I know the sheepherders have tried to tell everyone that Penn State had a decimated roster in 2012, but that was not factual in the least. Penn State's drastic decline won't begin in earnest until 2013. It's amazing that people didn't actually look at the team Penn State fielded this year. It's as if people, like the person I'm quoting, couldn't look past the scandal to see the players on the field. Some good players. Players that had an even better record the previous season.

Therefore my friend, I must say, your post is very disappointing. You need to decide whether you are going to post well, or post weak material like this. ;-)

Yea, they had the best passing QB in the Big Ten. This year. McGloin was horrible in 2011, because he's awful. BOB is what turned him around, designed an offense that he could succeed in.

Did this dumbass just say "Who cares what the defense is doing"??? Haha. Welcome to Football 101, child!

Lighten up, Francis. His point is that there's been a major turnaround in IU's offense, and the fact that we're talking about them (without ridiculing them) attests to it. Kevin doing good things.

The last Ohio State HC to win Big Ten COY was Earle Bruce back in 1979...I hope Urban doesn't plan on spending that COY bonus money anytime soon...

  • scUM fans are beyond delusional. That thread posted on here just proves something we already knew. I don't know how they can keep a straight face when they say things like Urbs going 9-3 next year. Everyone outside of tOSU was ecstatic when the Tressel era blew up and then they had a cold dose of reality not too long after and it drives them crazy. Nothing said in this article is untrue IMO.

dantonio completely laid an egg this year and his reinforcements are coming in the form of a recruiting class that 247 ranks behind kansas and just one spot above indiana. i probably would have put him in the 'stock down' category, but suit yourself. good writeup.

Dantonio's offensive line got killed with injuries...when you mix an unstable OL with a new QB and WR corps, you have problems. And MSU did, offensively that is. Their defense was very good as usual. With more offensive experience and a retooled OL they WILL be better next year.

Might not hurt him to dump Dan Roushar his OC however...didn't show much this year.

  • I don't see how The Meyer's stock is up, it should be steady. When he was hired a year ago, he was predicted to win multiple and consecutive national championships, balance the federal budget, and cure cancer. Now you're telling us that his stock is up from that starting point? What additional accomplishments are we now expecting from him? Cold fusion?

OK OK OK, sarcasm button off. I guess you could consider it up since he took a team that had the prospect of going 12-0 and actually doing it.

I also have to consider Dantonio's stock down, at least a bit. We all know he got hit hard on offense by graduation, but he had a lot back on defense and to go from playing in the conference championship game to 6-6 is a bit too far of a fall to be steady. Not that he is in any danger of losing his job, but I'm sure all of the Lansing fans will be breathing a bit easier after an 8-4,9-3 or even better record next year.

Likewise Hoke's stock, while again not in any danger of termination, has to be down a bit. Michigan-Ann Arbor fans were definitely expecting a conference title this year after last year's (insert your own derogatory adjective) performance. Granted the heart of the team (Robinson) was hurt for several games, but even when healthy they couldn't compete with the top teams they played. AnnArbor fans may poohpooh it, but visiting their own board at the end of the regular season showed they certainly had some questions about Hoke's coaching decisions.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
