It's funny, I saw he was arrested and immediately thought of the memorial and Shawnee Hills police. They're awful.

Meh, Not much here.

I got arrested for the same charge in 1996.

The reason?

We were at a party. I was 21, my buddy was 19. Alcohol was all over the place. However, my buddy was driving and WAS NOT DRINKING. I was playing poker or something and he was watching the game to the side. I sat down to play cards and I had set my beer on the counter near him.

Suddenly, the cops came in and went right at him (he looked young).
He said the beer wasnt his (he was telling th truth - it wasn't - the beer was mine).
Cop wasnt hearing it.

I stood up and tried to explain what had happened.
Cops wouldn't hear it.
I further defended him outside.
Cop wouldn't hear it.

He told me if I didnt stop, I would be arrested.
I looked him in the eye and told him "But I am telling the truth, you are making a mistake".
Bam, handcuffs went on me.

16 years later and I would do the same thing all over again. I stood up for what was right and what was just.
Oh, by the way, I am a lawyer now.
I give cops all the credit in the world for putting their asses on the line everyday for our safety. However, I dont think for one second that they are omnipotent or all knowing. They make mistakes just like we do EVERY DAY.

Im sure some posters on here will tell me that I got what I deserved because the cop told me to shut up, but I could care less.
I knew I was right.
I knew the cop was (at best) mistaken and (at worst) taking out his frustration on some kid because he could.

As I said, not much to see here.

By the way, that buddy I tried to help - he still thanks me to this day.

Apparently the ever vigilant chief of police broke his thumb when chasing a couple kids for pissing outside. He is pushing for the death penalty for all three of the perps. No word on his thoughts on all of the real crimes he was neglecting at the time.

Sounds like they were caught urinating in public. Only reason they were probably arrested is because they ran and it happened near the Memorial Tournament. Not a big deal if the two of them had not been Buckeye football players imo.
