I fail to see what the problem is based on this article. You state that there is "very interesting information". What was that information that i missed? What does any of this have to do with OSU or Tress?

From what I read, and I admit that I may be missing some huge smoking gun here, is that Tress forwarded emails to Sarniak who was the lead contact with Pryor in HS recruiting and an acknowledged adviser.

The emails from Cicero emphasized that Tress needed to get Pryor and Posey away from the tattoo shop and the owner due to Federal investigation.

Tress states in an email that he will continue trying to influence the players, but that they don't always listen.

It makes sense to me that he might reach out to Sarniak, as Pryor's adviser and friend, and see if he might have success in talking Pryor out of going to the tattoo parlor.

To me, this is consistent with Tress trying to get the kids out of a situation that could have turned out worse due to the nature of the tattoo shop owner.

The story that MgoBlew linked to tells the story of the District Attorney determining that Sarniak did NOT bribe a police officer when he had a car accident.

The fact that he gave $4000 to the department for Tasers was one of many gifts he had given the police department over the years.

Do I think that Sarniak thought he might get some juice from the Jeannette PD if he ever got in trouble? Sure I do.

I think it is no different than when people give money to some police department or state police charity to get the sticker to put in your car window. If you get stopped for speeding, you hope the officer sees the sticker and goes easy on you.

The difference is that Sarniak had the money to buy a bigger sticker.

JT's explanations of confidentiality and fear of disrupting a federal investigation are diminished by forwarding the emails. Hard to justify that he can forward them to someone outside the school, but can't forward them to his boss.

People, we really need to relax. Nothing has changed. Tressel screwed up. We know that and the NCAA will determine if we gave him enough of a penalty. This article means very little. If this is all that is found consider me not worried.

Something has changed. The horse blinders on this board are ridiculous. Will no one acknowledge the fact that this guy really, really sounds like a booster? How is Tress possibly forwarding these e-mails to a booster not a big change in the dynamic of this situation?

Maybe I'm dense, but I don't see how this article paints Sarniak as an OSU booster. So what if the coaches had dinner with him while they were recruiting him? One time I was at a friend's tavern when Dantonio came in to recruit a friend's son to UC. They invited me to join them for dinner. I guess if a blogger wanted to they could spin something up about me and how it was sketchy that I was there.

Granted, this situation looks worse and worse in the media because of the timing of the releases and the remarks that were made at the initial press conference. But it's not something that is new to those investigating the case and it doesn't make it worse. If it comes out that Tress paid this Sarniak guy a bunch of money to make custom glass, sinks, or whatever for his new home, then there is a problem. Until then, I'd say its more about headlines than it is substance.

With all that said, I do not believe I'll be surprised if at some point between now and the season if there are multiple resignations at OSU in the football office and athletic deptartment. It seems the media won't stop until they have enough of a movement to force OSU's hand to push him out just like at Tennessee.

I remember Tressel had dinner with Sarniak and Pryor during Pryor recruitment. Now this guy all of a sudden moves to Lancaster and Pryor can be a full time student, athlete and support his mom who moved here with him?

Tell me what the hell looks right with this situation. Pryor could be the next Reggie Bush and we already know what that means for Ohio State.

What does this have to do with him becoming a fulltime student? (not saying it doesn't, but I do not follow this).

Tressel will not be fired, sorry those of you who would love that. Not happening. At this point, either the entire compliance office is screwed, or nothing more will come of this. And now we're posting "information" from Michigan blogs? WTF is up with this board, are some of you really that bored. If you're going to post a useless article, at least label the thread in such a way so that we dont come in here thinking you unlocked some secret to this investigation. The NCAA and OSU know ALL of this info, so maybe your perception changes, but the case does not.

While I cannot promise a lack of pretentiousness, this response is hardly going to take 10 paragraphs.

Sarniak has been identified by the university as having a relationship with Pryor. He was an adviser and family friend.
This does not mean that he is automatically a booster. He would have to contribute funds, buy season tickets, etc.
Even if he was a booster, he can still be involved with Pryor if his relationship was established with Pryor, prior to the 9th grade, generally.
The compliance office has publicly stated that they investigated the relationship of Sarniak and Pryor and found no improprieties.
So the issue of if he is or is not a booster, is moot.
It simply is not a material factor if Sarniak was or was not a booster in the issue of Tressel forwarding emails to him.
If you want to complain about Tressel sending emails to Sarniak, I understand, but there is nothing new in the information you provided, we already knew that he forwarded emails to Sarniak.

The blog states that OSU coaches met with Pryor and the following day he went to his official visit at Michigan.
Duh. Is this some problem? Did I miss a memo stating that you weren't allowed to visit a player before an official visit?

Finally, the "vast network of RUMORS" that the blog refers to is identified in the blog as coming from "message boards".
If THAT is our criteria for tar and feathering OSU, then I suggest that Tressel resign immediately since the same message boards will tell you that Urban Meyer bought a house in Columbus and is the new coach.

But, of those rumors that are referred to in the blog:
IF Pryor has a Corvette, it was registered with OSU Compliance and paperwork has been presented showing that he or his family purchased or is purchasing the car. Myth busted.
Pryor worked at Sarniak's factory over the summer. Not a violation in any way shape or form. This blog was written during Pryor's recruitment, which meant that he worked at Sarniak's factory - if true - the summer between his HS junior and senior years. Why is this a problem??
Sarniak has a successful business in Dublin, Ohio. Damn you Sarniak!!! Oh, yeah, forget that - where's the violation of anything?

The NCAA has already determined that Sarniak was not a booster. It's been reported by numerous media outlets. I'm not going to link...just google it.
Also, forwarding an email to a mentor doesn't necessarily undermine a federal investigation. It's not like the mentor was going to dial up the Associated Press.
Forwarding them to a boss would very quickly undermine the investigation, in my opinion.

There are holes in the story (keep in mind, we don't know the entire story), but so many people are jumping to conclusions.
