Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
This will be a year or ups and downs. The Cavs will beat teams they shouldnt (@LAC) and then get blown out the next week. Part of the process in the modern NBA. As long as they play hard Ill be keeping up on them. Id say theyre a year away from the playoffs.
The only reason to trade varejao is the injury concerns. If you take the last 3 drafts im not sure there are even 10 players total that nba teams would rather have than him. His strenghts are smarts and instincts for rebounding which tends to stay with elite rebounders well into their 30s. So at least another 5 "prime" years
I didn't love the Waiters pick, but I'm not sure about who else to take. I liked Austin Rivers a lot, but did not want us taking Harrison Barnes.
Although I like Tristan Thompson's energy, the real blunder will be not taking Valanciunas.
Overall, it's difficult to be upset where we are at. We need to grab a SF and improve our bench.
If what we see with Waiters is real (it's still too early), we could really be set up to compete for a decade.
Had to make an edit because one person we don't talk about enough is Byron Scott. What a great hire by the Cavs. I love the toughness/intensity he instills.
