Head Coach in waiting is the worst idea for a program. In theory, it makes complete sense, but in practice it never seems to work. On the surface, having Meyer as Head Coach and Fickell as DC would appear to be money. However, you will have players that will be loyal to Fickell and as Urban Meyer, you don't want any locker room divisions.

If Urban Meyer is hired, Luke Fickell will not be on the OSU staff.

stop with the luke fickle coach in waiting crap. thats just dumb would i like to keep luke on staff hell yeah but hes clearly not a long term answer. and i think urban would be here longer then 10 years this is his dream job his home and where he wants to be. the admins need to make this happen sooner than later. he would be less stressed here than in the sec. big ten is weak compared to the sec go bucks! get urban!

Our current staff has been dealt a bad hand. I would love to see UM (Don't worry, that stands form the coach) keep the defensive staff and then retain Luke Fisckell as his offensive coordinator and then teach Luke everything he knows as the coach in waiting. Probably too much to hope for.

Keep defense, get rid of Bollman!!

While, I don't see the "Occupy" movement accomplishing much, I sympathize with their anger and frustration. I went through pretty much the same struggle in the 70's.

I think the point is that schools (and communities ... looking at you dispatch :) that don't cooperate get off lightly by hiding the proof. Whereas schools that self report should benefit from cooperating not be punished more severely. I agree there is no proof Auburn paid the Newton's, but there is enough smoke to believe some school(s) committed major violations we'll never see addressed.

i thought the ncaa was supposed to hand down a final ruling about 6-8 weeks after the meeting in early august.... november is almost here.... the ncaa has let this drag on for approaching a year now & continues to prove what a joke they are.

i agree that leaving heacock, fickell & others on as defensive staff would be a positive.... i think the sooner we part ways with bollman the better.... fickell's biggest mistake was promoting him to o-coordinator & calling plays... i honestly think we wouldn't have lost 1 or 2 of these games with different/better decision making from our o-coordinator, which includes his decision to continually play bauserman & also his play calling.
