You have a guy in Luke who puts the Program before anything. Luke has been a part of a Staff that for better want of a better was conservative for the most part. He is learning just as the players however I feel one thing that is for certain he is a guarentee to learn and get better. We will be treated to a winning team this year and one that is frustrating but entertaining to watch. This is a growth year where pieces to the puzzle are being analyized and identified. As was mentioned it will take a good year for the nutrientist to fully impact the situation. Next year is the year that we will have really turned the corner and from there it will be onward and upward as we add more approriate pieces through recruiting. I think 2014 will be a National Championship year.
Go ahead and start Sabino and Grant against UAB...but Luke better get Crowell and Perry/Marcus some meaningful 1st half snaps ( and a lot of garbage time snaps) at MLB and SAM respectively.
The young kids are tacklers, Crowell is almost as instinctive as Shazier, and we need them to get experience both for this year and next year.
if we get up big in the 3rd and 4th quarters this weekend, i hope to see a lot of DEF substitutions.
Play Perkins, Marcus, Perry, Crowell at linebacker. if you give all 4 of those guys a dozen or so meaningful snaps, i guarantee that at least 2 of them will emerge and will turn into guys that can be counted on .

I think many of you are underestimating how difficult it is for a Freshman to play LB for a school like OSU. It takes far more than raw talent and athleticism. Bino has both and is a very average LB. Grant is also a perfect example. Knowing the details beyond that comes with repetition. I am not saying the young guys should not get a look here but to assume they would be an immediate upgrade is short sighted. Simply put, this will probably not get fixed this year.
There are some other issues on the D beyond scheme as well. I think the DLine has the pipeline being filled. That said, the DB's need more numbers and talent to go along with what is being discussed at LB.
So is the Bucknuts Staff gonna get down voted too now that they dare criticize Luke?
