To my knowledge we don't do the yearly scholorships anymore, only 4-year. I think if we did put him on scholorship it would be permanent.

Sometimes people that want it , get it. You never know when there is a diamond in the rough! Give the kid a break. If Urban thinks he has potential and with hard work that potential can reach it's aspirations, then so be it. Like to know his 40 time.

I'm not familiar with the 4-year scholarship rule that the Big Ten talked about, but I have to assume that they'd allow walk-ons to be given a scholarship for a year, if one is available. If transfers leave a team with 83 scholarships, I can't imagine the Big Ten not allowing walk-ons to be given a scholarship for a year if one is available. Teams obviously wouldn't award them to anyone but a senior if that was the case. My guess is that it would only apply to guys who sign a scholarship offer out of high school.

Looking at his senior year stats alone, I would say we would be quite lucky to have Vadas walk on at tOSU. Don't know anything about his athletic ability but I trust Duane's opinion. I know the Hilliard kid Mike Furrey was of this ilk & though he ended up transferring to play for Earle he played in the NFL for half a dozen years eh? Welcome to OSU!!

If you can get him as preferred walk on, do it. These kids are what make scout teams such a strong and invaluable asset, and many make special teams.
By the time this kid is a junior/senior, we will have all our schollies and maybe 1/2 a year get a senior scholarship for coming on this way.

Isn't the phenomenal walkon program what made Nebraska such a powerhouse in the late 70's early 80's? They had huge contributions, especially on the LOS with their strength & conditioning programs. I love the kids that are huge OSU fans.
