What do you think about Dunn?

  • I don't think we really need him whatsoever. We need him to not go to Michigan more than we need him to come here. Thats why I want him: so he doesn't go to michigan

  • How can he still be "committed?" Dude said he didnt know where he was going. Most verbals while visiting other schools, still say they are going to the school they verballed to. IMO he is a decommit.

    johnwic11

  • He committed and then recommitted after talking to Luke on the phone for an hour. Does radio shows and then doesn't in the end hold to his word! He should be held accountable for his traitor actions.

  • I tend to think he will wait until national signing day to make a decision since he will not enroll early. If we hold a spot for him and he goes to Michigan, then we can use that as one of our scholarships for the sanctions. The other option is to keep recruiting. If we get to the point that only his spot is left, and a better player in a position of need wants on board, you take that guy if Dunn is not ready to commit. In my opinion, he is not a verbal, he is undecided. There is no need to force his hand now, but with the way urban is recruiting, it may be necessary later.

  • Duane, I'm curious that no information from you guys have come out from Dunn's weekend visit. Strange to me when this is probably the biggest question on all of our minds. I'd like to keep the guy because he grew up a Buckeye fan, but agree with others that I would not wait til signing day for an answer from him. He knows who the head coach is and his resume. Make a decision and move forward.

  • If he commits to Ann Arbor Community College he better hope he wins because there is no love lost in that rivalry... you can talk all you want about possible sanctions and whether he fits into Meyer's offensive strategy... but at the end of the day tOSU will have the gold pants and all he'll have is a head full of bad memories. 4 years is a long time to rot at Ann Arbor Community College.

You sound like he sold secrets to the Chinese. We are talking about 17 year old kids here. Get a grip.

  • Several posters above mentioned a head / heart conflict; with the most obvious fact he might favor michigan is early playing time. He's analyzed our running back stable and sees that we won't need him for a couple of years. Dr. Watson might suggest that valuable scholies might be more frugaly spent on recruits expected to contribute next year, namely------------

  • I think your thinking of Kalis....He recommitted to Fickell on the phone...Now that's a guy I will enjoy our defensive line beating his ass for the next 4 years...

    MARINEBUCKEYE

  • If he wants to be here great. If he doesn't best of luck to him.

    buckeyedoc2004

  • Dunn is not a commitment any more nor will Meyer wait... I believe this in home visit will bw Meyer telling him to so what's best but if he goes to scum Meyer Will consider his scholarship open to use elsewhere till he fully commits to the bucks or where ever.

  • I still think the measure of a person is the strength of their trustworthiness. If you look someone in the eye and give a commitment and then pull out and say "it's ok, it was verbal, not in writing", I think there's something wrong with that person. No one needed a verbal when he gave it, and he gave it without duress. Everyone says one of the things wrong with the world is that people don't honor their responsibilities and commitments anymore. And we're here saying "it's ok, he's only 18." At what age does a man's word really supposed to mean something? 19? 20? 35? Then he switches and commits to the very school that's your biggest rival? How many hundreds of colleges out there, and he chooses Ann Arbor College and we're all saying "Cool. He's only 18." How does anyone trust that person? If it was about Tressel he could have switched anytime in the last half year since he's been gone. I'm being harsh, I know, but I think it points to character. I don't see how it doesn't.

He can switch, this isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of the world, but people who break their commitments rarely think they are the ones worse off for it. We'll be fine whatever he does, but what is he learning?

  • Dunn hasn't backed out of his verbal and every time he has been asked he has affirmed his committment. So what he is taking visits. So what if he is considering his options. I don't like speculation. Speculation = drama and drama doesn't even equate to a hill of pig shit. What we do know is he is verbally committed to us and untillhe changes that.......leave it the phvck alone. I get sick of discussing Dunn when there is no friggin discussion because he has never changed his stance from the day he committed. If he "de-commits" then it becomes a discussion.

    Right now....today....Dunn is a buckeye.

You are thinking of Tyrell Sutton and Jenkins not Aaron Brown with the Block O. Brown was in the same class with Justin Boren when we offered Boren, Brown and Smith and only go Connor Smith.

  • I would just love to ask him if he does not like the spread why is he considering scUM?

Deturd ran it this year and will run it next year. So will Gardner the year after. Why does he even listen to those clowns?

Also would like to ask him what he thinks about fred's rule of pulling schollies when taking visits while committed. Ironic...

  • I gave him a drop dead date. He cannot make his mind up, bye bye. Go after Devonte Neal, he is a LaMichael James type.
We have Derrick Green in the bag for 2013, and have Warren Ball.
I remember missing out on supposed elite 5 star power back Jason Gwaltney and a few others recently, we have not missed a beat.
Quite frankly, am quite tired of even hearing about Dunn, he does not answer by a certain date, get another OT or DL and say bye bye.
You add Neal, who wants to be a Buckeye, and Green in 2013 and we do not even miss Dunn, not in the least.

Well he hasn't decommitted from OSU yet. We'll have to wait and see if Meyer gives Dunn an ultimatum. He certainly isn't stopping Dunn from visiting Michigan this weekend.

I think he has...watch what they do and not what they say. Point blank told Meyer he wasn't 100% sure...If I'm Meyer I go to his house Tuesday and ask one final time. If he cannot give me a 100% commit then say thanks but no thanks.

Use the scholarship on a linebacker or OL...OR ANY OTHER ELITE YOU CAN GET.

We are in on Green and Isaac for 2013 and look great for getting both.

    Noahbuckeye

  • Dunn needs to see the light. If he goes to Michigan he will have to go up against the best d line in the country for the next four years and not to win a game against the bucks. He is stupid if he goes to Michigan our d line will burry him in the ground

I agree that Meyer should give him a hard deadline, especially since he has other positions of need for his offense. Seems fair to me.

And just a fyi...I'd call Michigan the early favorite for Isaac.

Because Michigan ran a lot of pro-style elements in Hoke's first year and they are only going to be adding more as time goes on. Just because they are in the shotgun, doesn't make it the spread. They run a ton of power and counter plays from that formation. They were also in the I quite a bit.

Most importantly, in Hoke's first year Michigan had a 1,000 yard RB, which is something Meyer has yet to produce in his head coaching career.

  • I have much more respect for Dunn than I do FlaKalis. I think he is genuinely confused and is trying to do what is best for his future. He didn't instantly bail like others did, so lets give him the benefit of the doubt for now. If he turns, then we can hate on him lol

  • I'd rather have the Scholly than Dunn. RB is the least of our worries right now, we've got 4 and 5 star studs lining up at positions of need that i'd rather burn this one on.
