What is worse South Carolina or OSU

  • Their penalties will have to be worse than ours for the NCAA to have even a shred of credibility.

The idea that the compliance office could say that players could live in other student housing for $450 / month so it was ok for them to live in a nice hotel that would normally charge $1700 / month is going to get them killed. Add in the second issue and you have LOIC and FTM. The amounts and the number of athletes are all worse than tOSU. No way the NCAA could come in with a lesser penalty unless USCe self reported this stuff at the time and the NCAA ignored it.

The reduced cost of housing was the primary violation for Reggie Bush. This isn't something any compliance department could say there was a gray area.

Their whole compliance office knew about this and signed the exact same document Tressel did....this also was through multiple sports as well. This has been going on since 09 probably longer as well.

plus wasn't a coach funnelling kids to agents?

  • I travel quite a bit, and paying 15 bucks a night for a 2 bedroom suite is absolutely insane. How they could even attempt to argue that wasn't a benefit is just flat out embarrasing.

I made the same argument on the Blue Board and every SC fan is going nuts saying that its nothing......insane....they get so mad and think I am a Clemson fan bashing their school. Their argument is that 15$ is definitely enough if you stay at a hotel for an extended period of time.

  • The SEC gets away with alot of trash. SC players took cash , then they must pay the crime!! The NCAA is ajoke when it comes to their rules and procedures! What ever happen to the scandal @ Hurricon U (Miami) or all the scap and illegal junk @ Looser State U. ?

I don't think Miami even has a final notice of allegations. Shapiro is still coming up with more offenses and claims to have more documentation. The U is going to get nuked.

Yea Shapiro is meeting again with more officials showing more bank records....Miami is probably toast.

  • SC fans went berserk when I said they will get a 2 yr bowl ban and 10 scollies gone for 3 yrs....in all honesty I truly believe those will be the sanctions....NCAA i getting tougher, Boise got melted for doing harmless actions. Nothing coming close to 55 grand in impermissible benefits.

  • I just made a bet with one of SC's staff members that the NCAA will hand a stiffer punishment than their self imposed....what do you guys think?

Our problem was not so much the player violations as it was the coach knew about it and didn't report it/lied that he knew of no allegations.

South Carolina's player violations are definitely worse than ours, but unless their coaches or administration knew about it and lied about it in a provable way, their crime won't be deemed as serious and their punishment won't be as severe...at least for the university. I still expect the players to miss games if the violators still have eligibility.

You guys are surprised by this?... seriously.... ESPN hates OSU and we all know this... if ESPN wasnt involved in the investigation, OSU would of gotten minimal penalties. But since they blew it up the NCAA didnt have a choice...

but thanks to ESPN we now have Urb....so ESPN is stuck with the Buckeyes for a long time........Cant shake keep buckeyenation down
