What is your pet peeve?

  • Pet peeves revolving around drivers and driving deserve its own exclusive thread in my mind. Same goes for people in crowds and airports.

In fact, I'll summarize the nexus of all my pet peeves that revolve around drivers, crowds and airports. My biggest pet peeve are people who fail to consider the other people around them.

Aside from that, as far as crazy idiosyncratic pet peeves, I cannot STAND to see wadded or tangled up cords. Especially kinked phone cords. I hate it hate it hate it. It is literally my secret shame. When people figure it out they realize just how weird I am. I look in my wife's laptop bag and it is a jumbled mess of tangled cords that won't even extend to the wall anymore. and she would rather deal with it than have the discipline to keep her cords organized. I'm literally stressing out just talking about it. If I see it, I cannot help myself. I will sit down and untangle all of it.

Honestly, thats really it. Inconsiderate people and tangled cords. But inconsiderate people is just so broad. There are tons of examples on this thread.

People that drive in the far left lane of the interstate and will not move to the right lane when a car pulls up behind them.

Even worse when they are on the cell phone. I have a slight case of road rage, so those people usually get a one-fingered hello from me as I pass on the right. If I'm stuck behind them for a long time, like in rush hour, I will go around them, get in front of them, and slow them down.

"Oh listen to what Suzie posted last night "Blah Blah Blah" Can you belive that?"

"Oh my god did you see what Amy said on FB last night?"

    Edit:
Actually I should just include ALL of Facebook in here, I can't stand it. I know everyone has a FB account, and it has become the norm, but I don't get it. I think in 10 years I could be the only person on the planet without a FB account. And I will be completely fine with that.

  • how about people that drive at 5am or 8pm, when it's still dark or getting dark. If you can't see the instrument panel on the dash, then turn your f'ing lights on before you kill somebody. If someone else has their lights on, you should too. You can't see them, and they can't see you. And oh, by the way, turn off that turn signal that has been on for the last 5 minutes, or hurry up and turn into that river to your right so I can get by.

100% agree with you. All my friends want me to join face book, but I refuse to do so. They ask me how will I know what you are doing and I say call me or drive your lazy ass to my house.

  • People who say or type "would of" instead of "would have".

Slow left lane drivers make me insane and here in Ohio we have the worst of them I have ever encountered anywhere.

People with almost any carry on bags at the airport, but especially excessive carry on. Makes the security lines longer. Makes it longer and tougher to get off the damn plane. JUST CHECK YOUR BAG!!!!

did you know that it is illegal to drive with your wipers on, without your headlights being on as well? My wife just told me that this morning. Kinda funny.

I still don't have FB. I already keep in plenty of communication with the people I want to. Many of my friends are FB friends with people they never even liked when they were around them in real life!

  • Misuse of the term Heir Apparent. Nobody tries to become the heir apparent. They try to become the heir. The heir apparent is the guy who looks like he will be the successor, but may or may not become the heir. Brian Bobek is already the heir apparent to Brewsters spot. It remains to be seen whether he will eventually earn that spot and become the starting center. He wants to be the heir.

    People that walk slow

    People that drive slow

    People that mis-spell words

People that go through the exit door to go in at a store and go out the enter door to leave.

    People with no common sense

People that stop in middle of the isle at a Target, Walmart ,etc and you have to come to a complete stop to go around them.

Really? It's misspell, not mis-spell and it's aisle not isle.

  • how about when people think they are invisible when driving a car? Yes, helloooooo! I can see you with your finger up to the second knuckle, digging away like this is the closest thing you are going to have food for the next week. I have a friend who used to pick his nose, in my car, and wipe the boogers on the side of the seat by the passenger door. I never said anything to him about it though. That was a long time ago. Being that I'm older and a bit grimpier at the age of 40, I would definately have something to say now. Nose pickers used to make me gag. Disgusting habbit.

  • 1.) People who walk their dog and let them poop on someone's lawn, and do not pick it up.

2.) Paying a baby sitter to watch your kids, and then adult prices for a meal at a nice restaurant only to get to "enjoy" having someone else's kids running around screaming.

3.) Claiming your favorite college football team has 11 or more national titles when only 2 of them, actually 1 and 1/2, were awarded in the age of polling.

I can relate to #1 and #2. Cost a nice chunk of change to take the wife out for dinner and a movie and pay a sitter too. As for the dog dropping bombs on a lawn? That is my next door neighbor letting their nappy ass dog go in MY yard. Wish I had a BB gun. Not for the dog, for the neighbor. As for #3. The same amount as Army huh, impressive to say the least. LOL

Edit: I guess that would be umimpressive to say the least.
