Where are the fire Herman and Meyer threads?

  • People have been filleting Fickell all year. The last 2 games our offense has been terrible.

    We made NO adjustments. It appeared that Miller was scared to throw down the field. Our WR's couldn't get open with Miller protected for 5+ seconds.

    I am just wondering why there is fire storms all over this site on the OC.

    Ahh, today the offense was offensive.
    The offense was big against Illinois before the bye week chief.
    Big the second half against Penn State.
    Huge against Nebraska.
    Offense was bad today, but dominate the previous few weeks.
    Considering the offense won games like Indiana, Nebraska and Cal, maybe it was time they had a stink bomb.

  • I really think braxton needs to look at two receivers max. If he likes the matchup, throw, if not run. As he grows as a qb, the number of progressions will increase. You cant stand back in the pocket for 6 or 7 seconds waiting for a window the size of a semi truck or a blown coverage to let it go, by then the defense got you surrounded.

    Well, because that would just be dumb. And I think Braxton was running gingerly and is hurt. His running was ineffective and slow today. Limits what we can do offensively when our heisman trophy candidate is injured.

    I'm sure we have a few coaches who know the offense and are coaching him on who he should be reading on plays... 1 of them won NC's and installed this offense. He might have a clue of what to help Miller with.

  • I was pulling my hair out watching the offensive offense.

    1. THAT was what Herman came up with after TWO weeks????
    2. Way to much emphasis on Miller running vs. Hyde.
    3. With Wisky's top LB out and OSU with a good OL and two big fast RB's one might one consider running the RUNNING BACKS???
    4. Just loved how OSU crapped all over itself when Wisky put 6-7 on the line on clear 3rd down passing plays....jsut stunk the joint up on those. Quick inside slants to a TE, or anyone maybe? Noooooooooooo.
    5. Minimal or ineffective adjustments to the spy and dropped down safety

    The D held up their end of the bargain, and then some.

  • Why are many of us critical of Fickell and not Meyer? Because our defense has underachieved most of the year and our offense has improved so much from last year to this year. Our game plan was horrible today and against Purdue. But overall I like the way our offense is headed. I can't say the same thing with Fickell. I think we can win a title with Meyer and Herman controlling the offense. But with Fick, it will be the same thing as Heacock. Good enough to win against average and show signs of greatness. But when we face an Elite team, our soft, non aggressive d will get us killed. Bigger picture we are ok on offense and that's why there are no threads like this

  • Offense is still in it's first year and has largely carried us all year.

    Defense has been largely shit all year with three or so good games.

    This is also the same defense from last year yet was worse for much of this year.

  • I think some of it is Braxton's inability to read and go through progressions. He looks for his main target, if not open he tucks and runs. He made some stupid boneheaded plays in the pocket today. He cost us quite a few yards (and downs) on many of them. Braxton did not have a good day. That's a big problem for any offense when your QB is under-performing. There was many times Brax had all day to throw yet couldn't find anyone open? I just refuse to believe that.

    And lets not forget to give Wisconsin credit, they did what they had to to contain Brax.

  • Maybe because we expected the offense to be a work in progress in Meyer's first year while the defense is practically the same with the same personnel on the field. Nice reach, though.

    Why complain at all?? The Buckeye's have won 11 in a row! Yes the offense was off today. So what, 11-0. Yes the defense has under performed most of the year with 8 players that will at least camp with NFL teams. So what, 11-0. Be happy.
