    Claiborne or trade down.

    1) In today's NFL, you don't take a running back top 10 unless he is an Adrian Peterson, (which Richardson isn't). You win throwing the football. Get a quarterback and some weapons.

    2) The difference between Blackmon, Floyd, Wright isn't THAT big. You can get Floyd from 7 to 15, and Wright should be available at 22.

    3) Ryan Tannehill has 19 starts in college. His teams won nothing. And his second half numbers pale in comparison to the first. Christian Ponder and Blaine Gabbert are proof you don't reach for quarterbacks. The Browns need someone to come in and help IMMEDIATELY. Tannehill is a project.

Claiborne fills a need for someone opposite Haden, (Sheldon Brown is past it). Is ready to contribute now. And allows this defense to take another step towards REALLY GOOD, and still address WR, RT, and RB in this draft with all the picks (13) they have.

    Morris Claiborne or trade out.

Richardson is every bit the prospect AP was coming out. I agree that you do not reach for a RB in the Top 10 unless he's AP....or Trent Richardson. It is a no-brainer. Why take a RB in later rounds when you already have 3 of those mediocre, late round RB's on your roster already?

I agree with your take on Claiborne. He is a shutdown corner. Any other year I would say absolutely, but when there are about 10-15 college teams who have better offensive weapons then the Browns, you cannot pass on taking a playmaker in the top 10.

Who would you like to see the Browns take with their first choice in the NFL draft? And who is the one guy that has been mentioned in connection with the Browns first pick that you hope they don't pick?

    Tannehill.

  • Absolutely no to Tannehill. He is a bust just waiting to happen at 4. As s browns fan I think you have to go blackmon at 4. Then at 22 shore up the RT spot with Adams or the T from Stanford....THEN shore up the RB spot with Doug Martin from Boise. I think this kid is going to be great in the NFL. He is pretty big to go between the tackles, enough speed to get outside, is good catching out of the backfield and very good in pass pro. Also he doesn't have the injury risk that Richardson has. Martin is going to be a steal in the second round of this draft and imo will be every bit as good as Richardson in 5-7 years. Other than Blackmon and Floyd I don't see any #1 type wrs in this draft which is also what Cleveland is looking for. Little is fine as a 2 and there are guys all over the place to stretch the field.

  • PIcking 4 you have to take elite talent if it is available. Browns have lots of needs so they should take the Best Player Available. That is Trent Richardson (assuming no one trades up to 3 to grab him before Cleveland does). He is an elite talent. He can do it all and has proven to be durable in the SEC. He is the obvious pick here. He is a great talent.

If Tampa or someone does trade up to #3 to get Richardson, then it is my opinion the Browns should take Claibourne. I know they need offensive weapons, but again when drafting this high you take the elite talent. He is that. The Browns would then have 2 really good CBs to combat passing attacks and strengthen further an already strong young defense.

Tennehill and Blackmon are not elite talents. They are good talents that could be good, but I don't see potential GREATNESS in either. I see potential GREATNESS with both TRich and Claibourne.

Trade down for draft picks, they have a LOT of holes to fill.

In the last 20 years, not many teams have traded up to nab a wide receiver at the top of the 1st round, and nobody really trades up for an RB; I see the Vikings staying put with the #3 pick and taking Ryan Kalil unless something unforseen happens at the top and either Luck or RGIII becomes available.

That and I think that drafting Tannehill at 4 based on essentially one year of performance is a massive stretch. How are you going to spin/sell THAT bust to your fanbase, when really, I don't believe him to be that much of an upgrade (if any upgrade) to Colt McCoy?

  • The Browns have 13 picks in this draft so they will have the opportunity to fill a lot of holes. I expect them to do more moving up than down with all the picks they have as Heckert has proven that he will move up if a guy they like slips past what they have him valued at.

At 4 you take the Elite talent. After that you can move up and down to fill other needs with good players.

  • At #4 it has to be Richardson, Claiborne or Blackmon....I am very high on Blackmon, but I could go with a WR with pick #22 especially Floyd who is 6'3....I would be very tempted to take Claiborne here and have 2 shutdown corners as that automatically makes your D sooo much better....but the Brownies need playmakers and a RT....I'm sure with 13 picks Holmgren has a specific strategy....so my prediction is Claiborne at #4, Floyd at #22, and a RT and RB with the next 2 picks....eventually they'll need to pick another top notch WR....and most of all STAY THE F AWAY from Tannehill

  • I go all offense on my first 3 rounds....not a huge fan of a RB pick but it seems that the Browns are zeroing in on him with the decision to let Hillis go. I would like to see:

1st Round: 4) Richardsons 22) One of the 3 WRs (Swift, Hill, or Floyd...though he looks to be gone by then)
    2nd Round: a RT
3rd: either OG or QB Weeden if still available

Rest of the draft focus on defensive depth

would make the D much better now one side of the ball is legit. then start working on the offence.
