When I was a sophomore, my school made the state playoffs for the first time. We played Cleveland St. Joseph with Mike Golic, and beat them. The following week, we played Massilon with Chris Spielman and lost. I, being a sophomore, played spectator.

Went to school with Roethlisberger's Dad who played QB at Georgia Tech, tho he was 3 years older..played football against OSU player Jeff Cisco..UM players Mark Hammerstein and QB BJ Dickey..WR Rick Morrison of Ball State and the Mauk boys Dad too..
Played basketball against OSU big man Mark Hect..Toledo and OU guards Jay and Kirk Lehman..Big 8 player of the year in 1979 from Oklahoma, John McCullough..
Won the baseball state championship in 1976..and played against many players that played pro ball tho none sniffed the majors..

My older brother played in the state semi finals against 2 future pros..LB and first round draft choice of the Baltimore Colts, Mike Bell..and his FB teammate Pat Moriarity..he also played against Mark Thuman from Dayton Alter that played at ND..

Threw shot and disc against a few guys, Matt Light probably the biggest name(He was a pretty boy back then)
