Both have a loss at home to a similar ranked team. Oregon's opponent though needed OT to win, Bama's opponent won in Regulation.
Bama's opponenent won by more as well.
SO why should Bama get in over Oregon?
It seems to me like Oregon should still be ranked ahead of Bama.
Am I missing something here?

Why should winning your conference have any bearing on whether or not you get in? I'm being half sarcastic when asking this (as I was when asking the original question) but winning the Conference didn't seem to matter last year.
Yeah I know Bama will get in because they play in the oh so tough SEC, but if the only thing that was seperating these two teams before last night was Bama's loss to A&M, you have to compare the two losses.
Bama's loss was slightly worse than Oregon's, so in reality Oregon should stay ranked ahead of Bama imo.
I know they won't and think SEC bias is bullshit I still wanted to point out why Oregon should be in over Bama.

you are going back and forth between years and got yourself confused.
Last year..Bama's only loss was the #1 ranked team.
This year..Bam's loss was to and Atm team that will be ranked ahead of Stanford..so again..Bama's loss each year was a better loss than Oregon.
If Bama gets in...and the ONLY way they get in this year..is going 12-1 and winning the SEC...which is in any realistic student of cfb..better than a 1 loss Pac12 team that didn't even win their half of a division.
Hate on the SEC all you want...but don't let it be the reason for illogical reasoning.
Now...if UCLA beats Stanfor next week and Oregon beats UCLA...Oregon would reposition themselves for a chance..though that would mean that their loss is to a 3 loss team that ND beat (if ND got beat by USC and ended up 11-1).
In the end...even if ND loses next week...a 1 loss SEC champ, a 1 loss ND, and a 1 loss Fla (if they get by FSU) are all more deserving of playing for the NC than a 1 loss Oregon (if Stanford wins next week).
I would give Oregon the nod over a 1 loss K-St or a 1 loss FSU based purely on who those two loss to unranked teams.

No I'm not confused. My points were last year Bama got in without winning their conference. People here are saying Oregon shouldn't get in unless they win the Pac 12 but Alabama didn't win their conference last year so winning the conference shouldn't have any bearing on who gets in (As Bama getting in last year proved).
This year, both Alabama and Oregon lost at home to a team that was ranked between 10-15. Bama lost by a little more, and the team that beat them didn't need an extra quarter to do it.
Those were my points. Alabama hasn't accomplished any more than Oregon this year. So there is no reason (other than unfair SEC bias) that Bama should get in over Oregon.
