Why we will beat the SEC

  • Nick Saban has a formula. His formula is to play relentless defense with incredible athletes, and pound the ball traditionally with big strong backs. I believe that this formula is a winner, but flawed. Urban wants the same D, no doubt. Within the O lies the difference. We want a mobile QB, ala Johnny Football, who creates nightmares for D coordinators. Alabama goes the traditional route. Why? Because the south is still racist. Alabama strays from a black QB. This is why we will prevail in the end. By in the end, I mean 2 years from now, BMs senior season. I am not saying that white QBs are going to go by the way side, but he seems to like drop back passer types. That will not cut it in the NCAA in the future. White QBs that are athletic will be successful, but the scare crow types will not.
    I have never been impressed with Bamas QB play. Managers, not play makers. We will have an O like Oregon's, only with a better power aspect, and a D similar to Alabama's. We will win because we will be capable of scoring more points, with a similar D. UFM is an intelligent, and cutting edge coach. Far more than Saban. Saban will be a dinosaur, and he will go extinct. Urban has used his time off to reflect, and Saban's ass whipping is coming. Just watch. We have the most innovative coach in all of college football. Thank God. This is how I know God is a tOSU fan. LOL good things ahead brothers.

  • I think its more that saban is a lot like tressel. Mostly he wants QBs that are game managers and wont make mistakes. He knows his run game and defense are good enough to win if he doesn't have negative plays. That's why he rails against teams like Oregon as not 'real' football. They raise the possibility that he'll have to outscore someone to win, rather than just bludgeoning them with power. Michigan game not withstanding, his offenses aren't built to win shootouts.

    So, we may disagree about Saban, but I absolutely agree with you that we will defeat bama at some point. A defense as strong as theirs with elite players running a dynamic, high scoring offense.

  • I agree I don't think the current staff is racist. However I could fully believe that bear Bryant would've told a black kid. Boy, you the wrong color to play quarterback at Alabama.

    Actually this is a point. Bama played texas or usc, I don't remember but bama got crushed by their black and white team and bama's white players got killed. He went back to campus and told his ad that he needed to get some of them colored players.

    Damn bama is racist.

    If the south is racist, why did Auburn win a NC with a black mobile QB? Because he was the best QB on the team! I doubt if Saban cares if you are impressed with their Qbs as long as he continues to win NCs... I was never impressed with Kreg Krenzel, but he got the job done. IF we beat Bama, it will be because Urban has finally recruited the type of athletes that are commonplace in the SEC. He even said >>>>Fast & tough kids.

  • I'm not saying there isn't racism, but to think that someone who is ruthless like Saban would intentionally not take advantage of talented players is delusional. The guy could be a racist and would still use a black QB if he thought it was the best player for his team.

    Now to say that Urban is building his team to beat Bama is a theory I think is accurate. He knows who's at the top of the mountain.

    I often wonder how my brain hasn't exploded reading dumb comments like this. If you're going to use "if this, then that" inferences please be educated. Fact is, Bama has recruited black QBs. I suppose because the Cincinnati Reds entire outfield was white means that Ohio is racist? Quit seeing the world in cliches and stereotypes man! Alabama might be full if inbreds but their not all racists biggrin

    So everything we hear about Saban being ruthless, heartless, etc, but he won't use a black QB if he is the best QB to choose from?
    I ain't buying it! Most prototypical pro style QBs are white. Most prototypical dual threat Qb's are black. Saban is a pro-style O guy plain & simple.

  • I think Alabama has benefited from CFB being down as a whole. FSU and Miami have sucked for 10 years. This has helped Alabama/LSU/USC...and even our Buckeyes to an extent.

    ND has sucked for 20 years. That helps Alabama because its one less powerhouse you have to deal with.

    I think Alabama has benefited from ESPN. They should not have played for the NC last for sure...no way in hell.

    Its all gravy. Its our turn.

    There are certain coaches that fir certain places perfectly...

    Woody at OSU
    Bear at Bama
    JoePa at PSU
    Bowden at FSU
    Saban at Alabama

    Meyer at OSU...Going 12-0 in his first year has got into Sabans head. Saban played some games offering kids we had locked up. Saban knows what the capabilities at OSU are...they are even better than at Bama. Our athletic department and in state talent are 2nd to none.

    The prospect of OSU winning the NC this year on a 26 game winning streak...FUCK BAMA because they have 2 home losses and still backed into the NC this year and last. Its realistic to say we could enter the the 2014 NCG on a 40 game winning streak...

    Will we do it? I don't know...I didn't think we would go 12-0 this year...I didn't think we would get Clark, Wilson, and Bell...I think we got the right coach to do it...

  • Not buying that Saban does not use black QB's because of racism. Yes, the South still has not put racism to bed...neither has Ohio (the State I love). Nevertheless, Saban picks QB's that will not "lose" the game for him. He picks "managers" not dynamic playmakers at that postion. Its just his philosophy. Meyer is a risk taker. Saban is not. That is why we will beat them. Meyer will dare to be dynamic while Saban will be conservative. By the way, we will not see that match up until the playoff year 2014-2015. Next year will be Buckeyes vs. Florida. Mark it down...Networks will eat it up!

  • I think the athletic QB is exciting but they take too many hits. We where all on pins and needles everytime Brax took a hit. I think the NFL tried the athletic QB and they can't keep them healthy on the field (i.e. Vic, Doug Williams, Etc.). We shall see over the next two years if Brax can stay healthy all year. Kenny G came in a couple of games due to this.
