Brady Hoke offered a scholarship to an Ohio defensive back on Wednesday. The Buckeyes are interested too. In fact they invited this northeast Ohio star to their junior day.

I'm just basing this on his film but to me he looks under 6 ft and he doesn't appear to have elite speed

I'll take your word for it Duane; I hear that this kid has fantastic hips and back pedals well. Mark Porter said a ton of great things about him too.

You might need to tight the temple bars on those glasses lol... those few plays we saw, he showed great quickness and very good speed. I can't say elite speed because he never got in the open field and had a chance to really run away from people. But then again... how many guys do have elite speed? And who cares if he is 6'0, 6'1, or 5'11... HE CAN PLAY! Those plays he was making were not ordinary throw it right to the CB picks. He made awesome reads and broke on the ball perfectly while showing he has hands... something our DBs lacked last season.
We got a baller here... Im hoping like crazy he gets an offer, but I'd like to hear about how he does at a camp too though.

Great cover skills, great "feel" for the game and is able to shut down top WR's. Having Devin Smith at tOSU is a BIG help for us on Gareon... not saying it's a done deal by any stretch, but he and Devin are close friends... As far as Michigan having an advantage into Massillon, there have been a few good ones get away... but not the majority by any stretch...

The kid has speed. I'm a season ticket holder at Massillon and the kid makes very quick breaks. If I remember correctly he ran a 4.5 40 at the nike combine in Massillon. Kid ca also jump through the roof. LarryTaylor the basketball coach also noted that he is the fastest basketball player he has ever had on any team and thats a guy that has coached and won many state titles in basketball.

I agree w/ Duane & every once else that this kid needs to be offered. The day that Bucknuts put him in the Bucknuts top 50 prospects, I was suprised by coming along his name because Ive been to so many Massillon games & never once heard of him. But when I watched his film, it made me think wow! If we could get him to go w/ Woodard & Burrows, & a combo of Day, Thomas or another DB, we would have the best DB class in the nation! Go Bucks!

I can see why you would think that, but the one thing I like about Gareon is that he appears to have that "gambler's" mentality. The major difference is that you get the feeling that he knows what everybody else is holding... He seems to make calculated gambles based on snap decisions, (A.K.A. "reads") and just gets it done... I love his upside..

26 tackles and 4 ints and 1 or 2 were returned for td's. Plus he missed 3 games with a broken hand and played in the Mass-McK game with the same broken hand and had numerous pass breakups that coulda been picks if he werent wearing a hard cast.

We had Frank Minniefield in Cleveland and if he was 5'10" I am Fabio. And the dude was elite. Let's not get hung up on an inch here and there. Can he play ? Sounds like it !
