At first I said no. But then I read comments from Mark Emnert about this scandal being unprecedented. I read comments from respectable media who have covered sports for decades about this being the worst sports related controversy they'd ever covered.
With that type of perspective eminating from the well informed and the decision makers, I fully expect Penn State football will be shutdown for at least one year.

I think that it does. The University is worried about federal funding and wants to take measures to protect itself. The NCAA has called this scandal 'unprecedented' indicating the punishment will be similar.
I would not be surprised to see the program 'phased' into a shut down for a three year period or so. They will play next year and give the school and the conference time to come up with a plan. They will not be able to sign a recruiting class or play in a bowl. The players will be giving a better transfer ticket than the players at USC received. The program will disappear for a couple seasons.
That is what I envision.

That is what I envision.

As much as I hate to see it happen, they may be shut down or severely hampered. It will kill the BIG10 and we better pressure ND and a few others to join.

No IMO.----- Whether the statue remains or not, will tell us a lot as to what direction this is going. Many legal experts seem to think it wouldn't be hard to make this a non-football issue. That idea is key to the outcome.

No. PSU will recommend sanctions to the NCAA. Vacate wins, Scholarship reductions, stronger compliance, Bowl bans, probation period. NCAA will accept.
