Will Smith gets 4 games, Vilma suspended for entire season

Saints bounty penalties just came down for the players. Former Buckeye Will Smith got four games. Jonathan Vilma from Da U got curbed for the entire season.
Scott Fujita, now with the Browns, got three games.
Roger Goodell is a gangster.

Wow, how do you prove something like this? Were they stupid enough to keep records of payment? How do you account for all the players who were trying to take someone out but couldn't. This is so subjective it's not even funny. IMHO no players should have been suspended for this.

The players union was involved in this process. If we don't hear any squawks from them, then you can bet the ranch they have solid evidence against these players. BTW: Multiple eyewitnesses saying they same thing constitutes solid evidence. It doesn't have to be written records.

This just means maybe Fujita actually plays a game in December. He is only good for 10-12 games anyhow before he gets hurt.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut him which I believe saves them $3.5m. There was a reason they drafted two LB's late who can play inside and outside. They knew they needed some depth and youth at the position, regardless if a suspension came down. Fujita's durability made him expendable before the bounty stuff. This might be icing on the cake.

Way too harsh...this shit goes on everywhere...why not just have the Saints forfeit the entire season...Roger Godell has taken his authority to another level with all this...if you think this stops anything, you're crazy...just shoves it underground

Naw this will put a stop to it... Vilma is about to go a whole year without pay. Player's dont like losing money, Goodell is making a statement. I can't see players taking the chance on doing this again/ The precedent has been set to where the next time, suspensions could be even longer or permanent.

I agree. Goodell is sick with his own power. I understand trying to clean up the game but legislating all violence out of the game is getting ridiculous. He is fining guys for legal hits and there are penalties being called for BS. I can't stand it!!! He wants to "fix" football and there was nothing wrong with it. My favorite segment on ESPiN ever was called "Jacked Up" and they took that off the air after Goodell became Comish. #Restore The Game

Does that include restoring the Parkinson's, demensia, permanent back injuries to the point where guys can't walk, etc?
