No clue, but thats on Matta. DT is not a 4 and Sully is not a 5 period. We will not win anything till we get back to actually recruiting for real spots on a team. Scott / Craft on the floor are not great together. They are both points and neither can shot for shit. DT will get and has been abused by longer athletic 4's. Rav tries and works hard but if that is our 5 we have no 5.

So you want Craft/Scott at the 1, Lenzelle/Thompson at the 2, DT at the 3, Ravenel at the 4, and Amir at the 5? Who do you want coming off the bench at the 4 and 5? Do you want Q only coming in to spell DT for 5 minutes a game?
Your goal is to get your 5 best on the court. If that means playing small or playing big, so be it. DT is a matchup nightmare because he can overpower smaller guys and he shoots well enough to make it tough for big guys to guard him and chase him around picks. Unfortunately, tough matchups go both ways. He struggles defending quick guys, and he's undersized against post players.

Again, I am not questioning what might be best for this team, but the team make up is directly and squarely on Matta. He recruits the kids and he builds the team. Not having any size other then Williams and Rav is his problem. He has way to many athletic guard types and not enough true Front court kids. They don't all have to be 7' tall but getting 4 guys who are all atleast 6'9 or so shouldn't be that tough for as a lot of people say one of the top best coaches in the game. Hell, PAYNE is an OHIO KID from Dayton.

you are contradicting yourself.....you ARE questioning what's best for the team. Enjoy the win and teh way this team played.
Payne is a match-up problem for ANY team.....we all know DT is not the best defender...we all know that we need a capable big. AMir was offered by MANY MANY other schools and he obviously is not panning out.
As others have said...Matta recruited Payne hard and he chose MSU, not OSU.
Your criticism of Matta is ridiculous......we all do not have to like how he coaches some times or choices he makes but look at his track record and what he has accomplished. Next year might be a little dicey but right now we have a top ranked recruiting class for 2014.

I have not contradicted anything. Try some reading comprehension again. Matta might be doing whats best for this squad. But this squad is lacking shooters and an inside presence. Who takes the blame for that. MATTA DOES. He built the team. It doesn't matter if he tried to recruit a kid and failed to do so. He didn't get a back up plan or have another kid that could also take that spot.
Matta also doesn't have any National Titles to sit behind either that gives him make up time like coach Cal does with his current Kentucky team.
In your mind you can't complain about a team because the coach missed out on a recruit? Bull shit. Matta either gets the kids or he don't. IF he doesn't he better have a back up plan.
Again, Matta can coach and recruit, I am not discounting that. I am saying the lack bigs on the team and outside scoring threats are his responsibility and are directly on his shoulders for not getting them.
