  • You do not start out 6-0 with the worst OSU defense you have ever seen. After every single victory there has been a nut job like you that starts a thread like this. I dont understand what you want. I honestly believe some people are only happy with a 60-0 score.

    I wasnt aware I was only allowed to comment on threads started by non nut jobs. I thought last night the booze was talking, but you still sound like a douche bag. We are 6-0 in a rebuilding year, sit back and enjoy the ride.

    I've had about 20 guys like you who keep saying i came here "after" the win to complain. Either you can't read or you just jumped to conclusions.

    As I have said about 10 times I wrote this post in the first half after the linebackers and safeties were playing flag football. I have been pleasantly surprised by many aspects of this team since it's essentially the same team that finished last year with a losing record. But the second and third levels of the defense are terrible.

    And if you or the other hyenas here think i am going to cower at the threat of down votes or insults and back down...you guessed wrong.

    You mentioned downvotes a few times so obvious you care somewhat. You probably would have still taken a beating from the thread, but swearing and being a dick to everybody isnt helping your cause. You started a bad thread, admit it and move on. I started one about the replacement refs not being that bad and 10 mins later they blew one of the biggest calls ever. I took a small beating, but I think I saved myself about 20 DVs by admitting I was wrong and not being a dick to everybody who called me out.

    And Yes I did think you started this after the game, I realized after I posted but either way it doesnt change what I said.

  • Papa - you can't ever say anything bad about the Bucks on here or you'll get ass raped! This isn't the Silver Bullets of old, but we do have the highest paid DC in the B1G and 60th in total defense (oh you're not supposed to look at how many yards we give up to bad teams, but the fact we are a solid 34th in scoring defense, or maybe we have a great rushing defense -- 35th, hell our passing defense is only 96th). We all know it's Urban's fault b/c he micro-manages the coaches, and won't let the DC do what he wants. Don't fight with the ostrich mentality of the folks on this board, the defense is fine b/c they say so. Let it die, don't point out the facts because while the facts are interesting they are completely irrelevant to many on this board. They look at the world though scarlet glasses and don't want to admit that this team is flawed. By the way total defense the last 10 years 2011 to 2002, 19th, 4th, 5th, 14th, 1st, 12th, 5th, 30th, 10th, 23rd. So it would it appear based on past seasons you may have stumbled onto something, that this defense is not nearly as good as years past, but once again the facts are irrelevant.

    There are some really intelligent and football saavy people on here to discuss the games with...and there are also a bunch of toothless hillbillys that write an a 10th grade level and insult first and read later. I am not interested in playing high school popularity games and will not change my opinion based on negative feedback.

    Thank you Gabuck. I know I am not off-base here and I was not looking to pick a fight. They brought it to me so i will stand my ground.

    If you could imagine what we would be like without some of the best DE's and DT's in the country. It would be scary if had to rely on linebackers and safeties if we did not have the Hankins' and Simon's of the world.

  • I can't say this defense is worse than last years, but can't say it's better either. If were were playing any of the teams currently ranked above us the D would cost us the game.
    The DL might just be good enough and the rest of the B10 bad enough that we make it through the schedule despite the back 7.

Now you are bragging about some football savy people and good conversations lol...keep digging, I promise you are not looking completely stupid. Every D1 players out there has more athletic ability than you could dream of. Yet you want to berate some of just because they don't make every play on the football field. Their 20 yr old kids and their not allowed to make any mistakes. We won 63-38 in an excellent and exciting environment. It was a TEAM win. If your not happy with the game played last night, you'll never be happy. Your not a fan. Fans cheer their team to victory. Your a hater. To all the hater out there I would love to come to your job for one day and point out every thing you do wrong.

  • I haven't read all of this, but the defense hasn't been good this year. They have been good enough, but not good. For years I read on here that teams like Oregon can't win giving up so many points. Last night looked like that for the Bucks. With that being said this team is 6-0 and I won't complain about the yards and points until a couple of losses or one bad one. This was a 6-7 team last year and a new staff.

    If I was stuck up I would point out that a couple of posts ago that you don't know the difference between your/you're. Basic English isn't hard and it helps convey your point more effectively. Let the down votes rain down!!!

    Worst defense? Roby and our DL are excellent. Worst collection of LBs and Safeties I've ever seen. Don't believe the counterfactual history others are telling you. There is a talent gap on this team. We saw it today. LBs and safeties are awful.

    The defensive line is good. Roby is good. Problem is, we don't have a MLB. Defense gives up way too many big plays. Poor angles/tackles still shows its ugly head. Could be a mixture of coaching/personnel/youth.

    At times they show aggressiveness and decisiveness. Others, they look completely lost. There's definitely holes to fill.
