I know its not the same thing, but if you dont think some of this goes on at OSU (alcohol, drugs, girls, $$$, "benefits"), then you either (a) did not go to OSU in the last 30 years or (b) you wear the most scarlet colored glasses known to man.

Dont get me wrong, I am not saying everyone is on the take, but fellas, keep it real here. Our boys most assuredly can get paid like the rest of the stars in the big schools around the nation. It might not be $180,000 like Scam Newton, but we arent exactly Northwestern either.

    Glass houses...

    You are 100% correct.

Without going into detail, I'm positive it happens.

  • WOW... That was one of the craziest things I have ever read. I will typically just skim these sort of things online but with each paragraph I was drawn in like a moth to a porch light!

This should shut people up about our program and realize what we did was childs play.

Screw that glass houses analogy. You are right it's not the same thing by a wide margin.

  • After reading this, I came to exactly one conclusion.....

OUR BOOSTERS SUCK. No wonder we are getting out recruited for some of the top names. Our guys get free tatts, their guys get 7000 words worth of extra bennies including a free abortion service! Come on boosters step it up!

  • i gotta think Donna Shalala gets taken to the slaughterhouse for letting a guy like that around the school

No cause to doubt you bux. Give me all the sordid details regarding OSU alcohol, drugs, girls etc that you are privy to.

  • The thing that is so eye opening is he links one of the NCAA highest members in this sting. The same NCAA official that hammered USC and Reggie Bush.

Robinson said on the radio they had 20,000 pages of documents that took a team of people to go thru. It was so much stuff it took them weeks to go over.

  • And people were screaming for the death penalty for us............it will be interesting to see how the talking heads try to spin this.

It should make our visit to Coral Gables a lot easier. By the time that game comes around I'd bet there will be a bunch of guys suspended for them, a lot of them starters. We'll see who has depth.

But instead, Shapiro said he was enabled by the university, allowed to run the entire Miami team out of tunnel and onto the field – twice – and once honored on the field by former athletic director Paul Dee during a game. The same Paul Dee who wagged a finger at USC as the chairman of the NCAA’s committee on infractions in 2010, chiding the Reggie Bush/O.J. Mayo scandal as a systematic failure.

“High-profile players demand high-profile compliance,” Dee said while announcing USC’s sanctions.

Now Shapiro says Miami’s athletic compliance – Dee’s own backyard while Shapiro was operating – suffered one catastrophic oversight after another.

  • We have breaking news here on SportsCenter:

    72 Hurricanes from '02 to '10
    Money Gifts prostitutes and lodging.

    Coaches aware

MIAMI: says "We are conducting a joint investigation We self reported this"

    PAT FORDE:
    Miami is in big trouble
Shapiro not the most credible but it's documented. Thorough story.

If NCAA can prove, this is devastating.

Studio Host: "During the 8 year period, they've had a complete turnover since that time."
Forde: "It's an ongoing Lack of institutional control.

Booster had access, this guy had a run of the program for a long time.
This could be severe sanctions going forward

All the building blocks are in place"

    Studio Host: "ARE You talking death penalty Pat?}
Forde: "mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm there's only been one in 25 years, but there is a possibility this is repeat. opening the door for Death Penalty

NCAA is moving toward stricter penalties. This could be on the table."

Studio Host: "NCAA was on Miami Campus. What does the school do next?"
Forde: "Their own investigation, Joint with NCAA, ... NCAA will send Notice of Allegation, but they have a different burden of proof than yahoo does."

    ---

The whole report too 3 minutes.
it's gone off the scroll now..........................and this was buried on ESPN News segment of their vast agenda.. oops, empire.

Very true, I have seen it happening, and can even name several of the places around campus where it goes on.

In the audio clip with the article, Wetzel claims at least 16 current players received improper benefits. Any idea who the others are?

If these Miami players miss the Ohio State game, tough luck.
If half these allegations are true, this makes OSU's "supposed" allegations that were disproven in large part across the board look like kids that stole a candy bar while camping out in a summer back yard sleep out.

  • It is bad. Real bad.

2 things stick out the most that will cause the NCAA to really get serious:

    Prostitution and abortion.

I think that most of it should be a straight forward punishment. But, I think that a lot can hinge on those 2 things. If they take those 2 issues more seriously than cash and gifts, then Miami is in some serious trouble.
