Your All Time Favorite Michigan Win and Why?

  • A little down time fun, getting ready for Urban's first.......What is your ALL-Time Favorite win over scUM.....I know you could name ALL of them, but lets pin it down to just ONE and give your reason(s) Ok?

Here's mine: 1954 win 21-7 sent us to the Rose Bowl, won us the Big Ten and National Championship,(10-0) and made Woody Hayes a big time coach at OSU.

  • That is incredibly tough question. Too many great wins.

Troy Smith's first opening win with 386 combined yards was eye popping pleasing win.

However, as a youngster, Art Schlichter's scrambling right to TD that broke 100,000 TSUN hearts rank high on my list.

  • The 2006 game was probably one of the greatest games I've ever seen. And it ruined MI's National Title hopes. Very gratifying.

  • I have to say the game that made me a bucknut when Earle won his last game and got carried off the field by a team wearing Earle headbands.

And the 02 win because we finally beat ttun again when we were undefeated removing a giant monkey off our backs.

  • Two of them really. No wait three.

    1. would have to be the 11 point 4th quarter comeback in Ann Arbor Troy Smith orchestrated. This catapulted us into the fiesta to destroy ND.

    2. 2002 win that allowed the bucks to go on and play Miami for the national title. It was down to the wire like all the games were that season. I suppose the game itself wasn't as big as the result of winning it was.

    3. Beating an unbeaten Michigan team which put us into the title game against Florida. This might be my favorite Michigan win but its kind of colored by the Florida loss. Here we had an unbeaten Michigan squad ranked #2 in the country poised to go to the national title game. The Michigan fans wanted it so bad and we took it from them. That is payback for the 90's in ruining more than 1 national title hopes for us. F#$% You Michigan!!! Stick that game in your pipe and smoke it.

  • 2002, easily. After all the Cooper years where we beat Meshitagain and we play for a championship, and failed repeatedly, to finally get it done was gratifying.

I can still see that John Navarre pass getting picked off in the endzone to seal the game and send OSU to the title game. Nobody in the sports world wanted us there. They kept saying it would be worse than the Nebraska game from the year before. Not only did we get to beat michigan but we got to shove all those little smug self righteous know it all sports writers faces right into their own shit and rub it in.

  • A huge fan of the 2005 game because of the two final drives led by Troy Smith. He was unbelievable against the Skunk Bears.

  • 1994 because I was there and rushed the field. Pepper spray still makes me nostalgic.

  • Wow...great question. In my lifetime, while it's close, I have to go with the 2002 game over the 2006 game. I have never felt the anxiety, stress, electricity and anticipation like I did with the 2002 game. And the bottom line is, without that game, there is no 2002 National Championship. Had the 2006 team gone on to beat Florida, then I might give the nod to 2006 simply because it was #1 vs. #2.

You know what I remember about that last pass? For just a split second, it looked like he was throwing to an open receiver (at least on television), and in that split second I thought we had just lost the game. When Allen stepped in front and picked it off, I literally dropped to my knees, fell on my face, and just stared at the carpet for a good 5 to 10 seconds in utter relief. I actually missed the first few moments of celebration...

  • For me it was the 2005 game in AA. The comeback, the little differences in the game that made us winners on that day. 2 scoring drives in the last 6 mins of the game, D coming up big. Lots of games to choose from but 2005 is my favorite.

  • So many good ones...I'll go with 1994. I only saw the first half because I was arrested right before the second half kickoff for streaking the field, but we won and I'll never forget that day.

    Go Buckeyes!!

  • Lots of good ones--I probably will have to name the 1955 17-0 win over the "weasels" at Ann Arbwhore. They were on their way to the Rosebowl, we could not return(gone in 54)..and the Buckeyes kept yelling "un-pack" to scUm players....we scored in every manner in that game and their star, Big Ron Kramer got tossed out of the game with a minute or two left when he "sucker-punched" a Buckeye. I met Kramer in the 60's and it felt pretty good...ha ha..I was bigger than 'Big" Ron.

All of them for the obvious reason. But I will give my fav two. Earles after the dumbasses fired him, and the win that gave us the trip to the National Champ game.
