Well, ten days until National Signing Day and we have one true, legitimate WR (M. Thomas) in the 2012 and 2013 classes COMBINED. Clark is a MUST get at this stage in the game. We're going to be caught with our pants down in a season or two if we don't bring at least somebody in this year. We also better pray that Spencer, Smith, and Thomas all pan out and are at minimum upper B1G caliber players. This is a scary proposition from my view. How much is Smith's fault is hard to say but he certainly is A factor in our WR whiffing. And to those who say "but the WRs improved so much last season", give me a break! The 2011 Buckeye offense was arguably THE vey worst of all time and all those guys were 18 year old true FR catching (used ever so loosely) passes from a fellow 18 year old true FR.; i.e. there was nowhere to go but up! Color me vastly unimpressed so far. If 2014 WR recruiting also stinks, three strikes you're out IMO.
He's the weak link in terms of recruiting. (He's young) Coming from a former d1 player, a kids position coach is the most important person in his life during college! Bar none... if your potential position coach can not sell himself as a father figure, teacher, mentor etc to your parents...there is little chance of picking that school! His only hope is that a kid is raised a die hard buckeye fan (jalin)... but with our oos approach, a lot of these targets are not huge buckeye fans, thus the need for position coaches to really sell themselves...jmo
