  • The real issue is simple. We do not have good, consistent outside shooting. We recruit great athletes, great basketball players but NOT great outside shooters. Diebler was the only pure shooter we have had in 5-6 years.

  • This was a disappointing game. Thad hasn't continued development of the bench, so the chance for a bench player to come in and help on a night where the shots aren't dropping are reduced. That is the downside of Matta's style.
    I don't think that is why we lost however and Thad is a GREAT recruiter and a fine coach. Does need to recruit more shooters and not just athletic wing players.

    This is two games in a row where we were outworked. They out scrapped us, came up with more 50-50 balls. Kraft played GREAT. Sullinger played hard and should have gone to the line more since he was CLEARLY hacked on some of the turnovers. Nonetheless, this was not his finest hour. Exposed the ball a lot and his defense was subpar. He didn't match Payne's intensity. Lenzell played hard as usual. His offense is always a crap shoot. I hope he stops being enamored of the three. Deshaun was terrible. Couldn't shoot, but took quick shots. No presence on the board, particularly the offensive board and used and abused on defense a lot. Buford was awful. Shot bad and took bad shots. Didn't/couldn't get to the rim and thus the foul line. No rebounding. No intensity on defense. No leadership. He is really up and down this year. The team had no one to get them up to MSU's intensity. The players have to look in the mirror for that.

    Finally, I hope BD71 is not from Ohio/ does not try to go to tOSU. Given his syntax and grammatical farce, he certainly could not have passed a freshman intro English class at any university.
