UFM doesnt seem to be shy about guys who are behind. Is Carter the next to be told to pack their bags? I was always pulling for this kid, a giant of a man - 6'5ish 340-350 and moves well. Be nice to have that even for 3rd and 2 situations, understanding with limited scollies we cant really afford an extra closing pitcher.

I hope he doesn't pack his bags. I hope they all succeed. Hate seeing kids leave.
"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
If Carter can take the next step, continue to shed a few pounds, build more strength, and improve conditioning, he might be the surprise of fall camp.
I would be more concerned about the guys that Meyer doesn't talk about. In this case, I tend to agree that he is trying to tell Chris Carter that his time is now. He is trying to motivate the kid.
Look at our DC, Carter is the only NT on the team right now. Asking a true freshman to come in and two gap less than a year after a significant injury is not a viable answer. I like Hill, but I doubt he is ready to do that. Schutt is really a one gapper. We may see less two gapping on this team due to the personnel (Bennett and Schutt), but I doubt you want to run off the only viable 2 gapping threat on the team.
I read it as motivation, just like D. Smith last year.
Count me in the "Carter will never see the field" crowd...I hope Im wrong but IMO, he has too many obstacles in his way...Meyer is motivating him but I'll believe it when I see it
I'm not so sure that Carter will ever see the field, but if he is putting forth the effort on the field and in the classroom, he will stay a Buckeye. And he may be a member of more than one undefeated college football team. But most importantly he will earn a college degree from The Ohio State University.
