  • Wasn't a big Mike Leach fan after his 2006 "sanctimonious bunk" comment about JT. Wouldn't want him as head coach, but wouldn't mind him as an OC. Doubt his ego could take that though.
But if he would, I would say keep Luke, hire Leach as OC and QB guru and LeChuck as OL coach. Say so long to Boals and Sic.

Maybe this is just crazy talk but what about Larry Kehres from Mount Union in Ohio. I mean we struck gold with a no name coach at the time we hired in Jim Tressel, why not this guy. He has a 92.6% winning percentage in his 26 yrs. there. I dont care what level you are at thats impressive. He's 305-23-3. He's also got 10 D-III national championships with 14 appearances. What say you?

Great coach, but DIII is just barely a step above high school, so too big of a jump (ask Faust). Most DIII schools could not care less about their football team, Mount Union does so Kehres has many advantages.

Mike Leach with Ohio State's defense wins 'multiple' national championships. Anyone who has listened to his Sirius Radio show knows what an intelligent and knowledgeable football mind he is. They would also know he absolutely 'loathes' espn (that wins him 90% of the votes from this crowd) and his approach and dedication to the game of cfb is perhaps incomparable. He could make a heisman candidate out of Joe Bauserman.

Ok yes..I'm nominating Mike Leach...anyone who just wants to make some off cuff comment about Texas Tech and a gimmicky offense..spare me..you haven't read anything about Mike Leach then. I suggest do some research first, then comment on his qualifications.

I hadn't considered it but...I like it! Wouldn't mind Leach. The fat girlfriends speech always cracks me up!

  • what about Greg Schiano?

He definitely has a solid resume. I imagine he could recruit well and win a lot of games for Ohio State. I think his teams play hard and are well coached. He seems like a bit of a throw back which might fit well at OSU. Have no idea if he would be interested but I'd take him over a lot of others that are being talked about.

  • Kehres is a figure head in that program. His son is running the show for the most part at this point.

yeah..I know..500+ yards of offense per game for 8 years in a row is a little too much for an OSU fan to wrap their heads around....especially after a 35 yard per game passing performance...nevermind..Oklahoma should have stayed with thier wishbone attack as well...they are so 'soft' now with a leach-style offense.

  • Peterson.

Or . . . Peter Carroll! He should get the boot from Seattle pretty soon, and hey, he could turn Columbus into a hep cat place.

Or . . . They could hire Tressel back! HA. Espn would lose its screws.

Leach has won what exactly? Only won more than 10 games once. Zero conference titles. Never finished higher than 12 in the polls. 0 BCS bowl births. Doesn't care about defense. His defenes at TT have given up an average of 25.7 points a game. Let's be honest Rich Rod had a better resume than this guy with a similar kind of profile.

The guy is a odd ball. He has no relationship with Ohio high school coaches. Mike Leach belongs at places like Texas Tech or Kentucky not places like Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, etc.

  • Anybody who foists Mike Leach on the board should be banned.

It would indicate you don't understand the interdependance of offense/defense/special teams. And care more about cool offensive stats then winning.

Our offensive #'s would improve, that would be cool for some of you. Our defense would become unrecognizable.

How stupid must you people be to think that our defensive production would magically be the same with some gay a**-ed version of the offense Leach runs.

That type of offense should be reserved for the Purdues of the world.

Our offense needs a massive overhaul in terms of assistant coaches.
Bollman, Sis, Doc all couldn't get another d1 gig.

But the base offense should always be power based at OSU.
Even Urban Meyters spread had power elements.

obviously diddy knows nothing about the Univ. of Oklahoma or their defense and he obvious has trouble understanding that you CAN be good at both. Only someone 'STUPID' enough to rationalize that you cannot have one without the other or has been living under a football rock too long would express such ignorant and juvenile opinions.

  • Almost as stupid as those electronic farts promoting Leach and all his championships/solid defenses/and huge Ohio ties is those pining for Petersen.

The sceintolgist whose program was just tagged with the dreaded "LOIC". He has never set foot in Ohio. Would do a bang up recruiting job in the catholic schools with his lack of Ohio roots and sceintology views.
He would be an epic disaster.
Good coach but a morbid fit at OSU.

Yes, I'm sure he will get consideration.

I bet you same people thought Dan Hawkins or Dirk Koetter were magnificent hires.

    This really isn't that hard.

Have any of you even begun to consider who will be making the desision?
    That is the bigger issue.
Smith is a bumbling idiot who will most likely not have a voice.
But then whose call is it?
If it is Leslie there is a decent chance Chaz Bono, Harvard HC, and Ty Willingham will be the finalists.

And furthermore Luke didn't cover himself in glory on Saturday but a combination of Bellichek, Tressel, Lombardi would struggle with our QB situation, the horrific offesnive staff, and the other suspended/injured players.
    You are overthinking it.

If Meyer wants then job then barring a a miricale from Luke he gets it.
If he doesn't then you weigh btw, Luke and Pellini.
If Luke fails and Pellinidoesn't want it, you then look for a solid coach with Ohio ties.

Those of you looking for a cool offensive coach who put up mad numbers in the WAC, peace out, imagine an offense that scores 50 with our D - you should concentrate on X-box.
You are not suited for anything but that.

Furthermode Oklahoma isn't running anything close to Leach is offense.
    Check the russhing stats.
When Oklhoma is really good it has to the defense.
