  • Why doesn't someone have the courage to tell Sullinger he is not ready to PLAY in the NBA, he will sit which he has never done. I thought the Kansas game would have opened some eyes. He was stopped by a less than an average 7 footer. I bet some NBA guys are salivating waiting to welcome him to the real world of big guy basketball. He needs at least another year at OSU to develop his outside shot which is where he will have to shoot from consistently in the pros. Too bad for Jared, someone especially his dad the coach should know better, I gues money has the loudest voice. I hope for Jared's sake I am wrong, but I don't think so.

You are wrong. And he has a good outside shot.

  • Sully will never be an All-Star. Solid role player, maybe. I completely agree with one of the NBA draft insiders about Sully's stock and the comparisons to Kevin Love. "Sully doesn't have Love's motor". Not to mention very limited athletically. The shots he gets off in college will be virtually non existent against 6'8 - 6'10 forwards (that can jump). He will have to make adjustments to his game in order to contribute offensively and quite frankly I can't imagine him scoring more than 8-10 points a contest at the next level - and those aren't All-Star number. That leaves us with his ability to defend... have we ever considered him a stellar defender???? Contributor at the next level, for sure. Just not going to get the same looks he got in college. Too many talented big men up there.

Of course I'm only going off of what he's shown at OSU. His father (Satch) mentioned that Sully has a skill set we've not been privy to (consistent outside range, handles, and other small forward/guard type skills) so maybe he can do a lot more than what he's displayed. I do remember seeing him on TV in high school doing just about everything for Northland from outside shooting to bringing the ball up court on a press. He's talented but just too much of a tweener IMHO.

Let me say that I'd love to see him ball out in the league and would be the first to eat a healthy helping of crow. It's just every time we see him go up against size, he struggles mightily. Heck, just reference the Kansas game. I'm just envisioning him going up against the likes of a Zack Randolph, Amar'e Stoudemire, Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzky and getting his @$$ handed to him. This doesn't mean I feel he made the wrong decision in declaring for the draft. Just what I feel will be the outcome of him at the next level. Hope I'm wrong.

Stop being selfish bro... If he wasn't ready, he wouldnt be projected in the top 15. You have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You act like he won't get better as he goes through an NBA season. He'll actually have more time in the NBA because he won't have to go to class. Its basketball all day everyday... you just want your team to have a shot at the NC again next season which I understand but please know what you are talking about before you go spouting out that BS.

You mean to have someone tell him he's not ready to receive a 10 million+ contract?????

  • This sounds like scum fan / Trey Burke mentality. Sully is what he is and will be a decent pro. He gave up alot to come back this year. Forever a Buckeye.

  • He's ready as he's going to be. His biggest weaknesses are his relatively short height for a post player and lack of explosiveness. Those aren't going to change with another year of college. He's a great kid and I think it's a good decision.
