It doesn't matter if he is ready for the NBA. The NBA is ready for him and will take him and pay him and bet on the come.

Come on man the NBA sees what we see. He is nothing more than a bench player. Why cant our homers see he is fat, cant jump, cant shoot and cant run. He is a banger who only has 3 foot range. He had his shots blocked by a white dude today. Never will play in the NBA, take it to the bank.

  • Does Sullinger's game remind anyone else of Hansbrough from NC a few years ago? Physical play and put backs but not a lot of actual moves?

We've got a pool and a pond. . . . pond would be good for you.

Tyler Hansbrough was relentless, dove for loose balls, killed on the boards, hustled all over, made his free throws, set screens, played hard and physical and always out hustled his opposing player.
Sullinger has very few of Hansbrough traits, if he did he would be a top 5 pick in the NBA.

I'm not sure about that. Sullinger has some nice post moves and he uses his body really well, of course he kind of has to with his lack of athleticism. Hansbrough was beast mode all the time. Not easy on the eyes but effective. I do know that Hansbrough has made himself into a nice pro when most thought he wouldn't be. Don't see why Sully can't follow suit.

I haven't thought of it that way, but u r right. Although, I agree he is not ready.

Well being ready is more important then getting money now. The money lost now can be made up 10 times in a second and third maximum contract.

  • I love Sully but have said it since start of this year. I don't think he will be anything special in the NBA. I just don't think his game translates. He is too slow and not athletic enough for NBA to be a 4, and not big enough for 5. I think he has a great college game but he will really need to improve the quickness, athletics and off the dribble game to do anything at the NBA.

  • I see him more of a Sean May type player, great on the the college level, but doesn't have the explosiveness needed for the NBA.

    Great comparison.

    Great comparison.

I think he is Charles Barkley except he cant jump.
Barkley was only 6-4 but played 6-9. He dominated
Barkley backed into people and controlled people with his body and hips..

does anyone think that Sully is ready for the NBA? i am not BB expert but he is not a dominator, intimadator or polished. He needs more time to develop his game. a couple slow white guys neutralized him today. He had a shot under the basket blocked. he needed to take the game over in the last 5 minutes and he didn't.

He's ready and should go. Not a bad thing to get paid to work on your game. Ask Kevin Love. If Little Deah wants to go, he should. Guaranteed millions vs. Tuition money? No brainer at this point.

  • I don't think it is fair to try to translate Jared's game to the NBA when he is so noticably injured. He showed much greater explosion at the beginning of the year before the injury. Now, he can't even walk without limping. He will be alright when he has time to heal.

Thomas is lucky to get drafted at all, there is not a draft board out there that has him in mention.
People say the NBA does not play defense, they do in the play offs, and Thomas needs work on his defense, foot work, explosion and basketball IQ. People saying Thomas is gone need to check the mock drafts, he is nowhere to be found, maybe Italy or Russia.

Good point I just see a very similar skill. I think he end up as 15 & 8 guy tho. Carlos Boozer isn't doing too bad

carlos boozer also can shoot a 15 foot jump shot with some consitancy...sully hasnt proven he can do that....he will get eaten alive by the the 4;s in the NBA>....he cant guard guys like dirk, love, griffin....its sad to say but hes gonna be a 3rd guy of the bench type player getting 15 mins a game...

Boozer could not shoot at Duke, he worked at it. He went to team that maximized his soft hands, ability to finish in paint with both hands and he is excellent screener in pick and roll. Sully has a very similar skill set, if he puts in the work he can contribute to team as starter. Hell Boozer is earning 70 million to let Noah cover his ass on D. I am bulls fan and it pisses me off

Sully is a legitimate 6'8". And yes, Love is a very good comparison to what Sully could be if he reailizes his full potential. I don't beleive another year or two in college will do him any good however, he's already reached his peak athletically. In the pros he will have to tailor his game to being more of an outside threat than a dominant post player like he is in college. Similar to what Antawn Jamison did when he transitioned his game to the pros. He will not get away with being a below the rim post player at his size in the NBA though, no way no how.

Love was in the 3 pt contest and actually plays defense. Sullinger isnt even close in terms of level of play. Not in the same planet in terms of hustle.

  • Sully's ready for the NBA. Will he struggle mightily on D at the 4? Hell's yeah, but he's got the skill set to play right now. I think his game at the next level will marinate a bit before he becomes a 16 and 9 guy and he'll be asked to pick and roll a helluva a lot more at the next level. Thomas should come back, don't think he will but he should. DT still has some raw skills and really he should be playing the 3...now and certainly at the next level.
