  • While we like to cuss and discuss OSU vs Michigan in an Offensive vein, this Rivalry in the past has been pretty much all about DEFENSE! Rick Rod was too dumb to understand that you had to do more than just outscore us.......Tressel pretty much made that happen in his tenure.......when they scored 40 on us in 2011 we lost.....Tressel (outside the 2006 game) held them to 7.10.7.3.21.21.9....to state a few.....in all of thsoe wins we scored 3 td's and won.....Meyer is going to have offensive weapons...I just hope his Defense matches!
    Hoke is going back to power traditional Michigan football..we will need to match that wiht speed and agility on Defense.....Coope could not....Woody did and Earle did and now Meyer will need to match that......How did Meyer beat us for the NC?,,,,,his team held a magnificint offense to just 14 point, 7 of which were on a KO return to start the game.....it should get interesting.....

    I think he could be as good as Lloyd Carr, but he obviously is no Bo. The big thing standing in Hoke's way is Urban Meyer. He might get a win against us here and there, but he'll always be fielding a team that is less physically talented. I feel pretty strongly that we'll be getting Ohio's and the nation's best for years to come, whereas Hoke will be getting talented, but not quite OSU-caliber recruits. You're ultimately judged on championships and beating Ohio State, and i just don't think that's going to happen very often for the forseeable future.

  • I think for Hoke year 3 is going to be very important. Anything less than 10 wins and a BCS bowl is not going to go over well. He's recruiting well but has to show progress on the field.
