  • I am not sure I feel good about this in-state rivalry. I hope the Bucks come ready to play as you know Cincy will be fired up to beat the Buckeyes.

    Fuck UC I'm from Cincy and when it comes to them vs us I fuckin hate them. I went to the football game in Paul Brown Stadium in 2002 and their fans suck c*ck I was only 12 and I remember some doucher who took off his UC shirt and had a scUM shirt underneath. They all are so jealous and butt-hurt that they couldn't hold OSU's left nut with a bulldozer. I think we'll handle them as long as Ravenel can come in and give some quality minutes because Yancey Gates will be going right at Sully. They are athletic but not very big.. we just need to be safe with the ball because they go hard for steals.

    Totally agree. I am from Cincy too. The good thing from watching this game vs FSU, they are a physical, athletic team, but are sporadic on offense. FT's on paper - they are terrible (they did hit their FT's today though), their 3's are not good either. Inside they only have Gates, and I think Sully and Ravenel can handle him. I also think Dixon is like Burke- he controls the game, and takes too many pressured shots. Stop him, and we win the game.

  • Agree, that size of FSU would have bothered Sullinger much more than Cincinnati can but still need to come to play.

  • Im from cincy, and i grew up a bucks football fan and UC basketball fan...this will be very interesting to say the least. Craft is the key for you guys as he can create havoc on defense. We have the advantage in athleticism and depth (3-4 deep off the bench). Both teams are streaky shooters imo but I'll give the shooting edge to you guys. Im really looking forward to seeing the gates/sullinger matchup....sully is more skilled than gates but I think gates will show up with something to prove...goodluck to you guys and at the end of the day its all about ohio...25% of the remaining field is a good look for the state

    How about the state of Ohio having 4 teams in the sweet 16 but has never happened before in the history.

    This game should mean a lot for both squads. Its the NCAA tourney, not a regular season game. I think osu will struggle with UC's quickness but I think crafts defense will be tough for us. The key is to get deshaun thomas out of rhythm early and often as he is really osu's only consistent threat imo...Everyone all over the state will be drunk come thursday night lol

  • They are an aggressive bunch and Sullinger has been a hot head as of late. Look for UC to get into his head. That will be dangerous. I can almost gaurantee their #1 objective is to get Sully in foul trouble early. Take him out, and then attack the basket.

    agreed! Cincy is going to try to do what Sparty did to Sully in Columbus......they are going to be physical with him and talk a tremendous amount of shit....let's see how he handles it.

  • I see a double digit Buckeye win in this one. Cinn will have a tough match-up wiht Buford and Thomas and then throw in Sullinger's post play and Craft's defense..a tough out for the Bearcats. Look for Smith Jr to have a big game in this one, as he will be pretty much left alone. A much better draw for the Buckeyes than FSU.

  • I think the Bucks match up better with UC than they did with Gonzaga. Doesn't mean automatic "W" but I believe it does give us an advantage. As with any tournament game we need big games from big names. Pressure D, hit the boards and never let up! Go Bucks!!

  • I don't understand why bench depth is so important in the tournament. Guys dont get tired. There are to many time outs for that.
    Team time outs
    TV time outs
    Not counting fouls, out of bounds balls. Etc.

    Totally agree with most. Sully needs to keep his head cool. UC is going to try and get him out of the game.

    LMAO I was going to say the same thing...im more worried they will start throwing fists when they get down. Its going to be a good game tho. Excited to play another OHIO team in the tourney..GO BUCKS

    It won't matter now but Thomas was dead tired against Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship game down the stretch.

    I like our chances. My concerns are 1) they are quicker than us (of their top 7 scorers, only two are taller than 6-4), and 2) Gates as their biggest space eater and chief thug. When we played UK last year, at one point that goon Harrison shoved the ball into Sullinger's chest and after that, I thought Sully played timidly. We can't have that happen again. Ravenel will need to step up and give us good minutes.

    Cincy has proven themselves to be thugs. Have seen nothing like that at OSU.

  • UC will try and be physical, but OSU plays in the most physical conference in the country, especially this year. UC will bring nothing that OSU hasn't already seen this year in terms of physicality.

    With Craft being overly assertive and Thomas being himself, OSU is simply too much for UC to handle.
