After looking at the current roster

  • some of the dead weight I would cut loose to free up more schollies would be Adam Griffin, Tommy Brown, Chris Carter, Conner Crowell (if he can't make a full recovery), Zach Domicone, David Durham, Melvin Fellows (he's done anyway to due injury), Chris Fields, Taylor Graham, Chad Hagan, Adam Homan, Travis Howard, Ohrian Johnson, Storm Klein, Scott McVeigh (another medical hardship), J.T. Moore, Etienne Sabino, Jordan Whiting, Nate Williams, T.Y. Williams and Jamie Wood.

seriously? what the hell are you thinking? cut nate williams. cut current starters to be replaced with unproven new freshmen? you don't pull scholies from jr's/sr's. let them finish their career here. i'm sure those guys have friends on the team that are starters and those starters would be pissed if you kicked their friends off...not to mention their high school coaches that feed players into the system.

  • I guess he did not listen to Urban when he said that the loss of Nate hurt US---the team earlier in the year. He expects Nate to come back and help the team next year.

  • You promise a kid a future when you get them to commit be it sports or education. You dont go around revoking schollies because a kid is not starting or playing or even as good as you expected. You have practice squads and players that contribute whether we see it or not. This is not the pros. Who would want to send their kid to a school that did that type of crap? Oh and lets just shoot our injured! GTFOH

Nate Williams has had a serious knee injury. If he wants to have a better quality of life, he would be wise to call it quits right now. Something Fellows and McVeigh should have already done. Having a chronic injury that only worsens with age is no laughing matter. Living with hellish intractable pain, depression, limited mobility and being dependent on narcotics is no way to go thru life.

If any starters get upset that some of their non-talented friends get cut, then they can leave too. They aren't here to make friends, but to win games. If they don't like it, they have no business playing college ball and need to find something else to do.

Sounds like you don't give a rats ass about how bad these injured players end up later in life.

I'm sure you would have cheered if they put Sweat back in the Purdue game after suffering a severe concussion.

That has to be one of the worst posts I have ever read. This is not South Carolina and Meyer is not Steve Spurrier. If he pulled something like that I'd fire him the next day.

Adam Griffin was never deserving of a scholarship. He doesn't have the talent to play here and never will.

    I agree.

Those kids made a commitment to Ohio State, regardless of their ability, and should be given the opportunity to finish their education.

you're right...there some good life lesson's to learn here...

any adversity or road blocks in your life; things not going as planned...walk away from them.

you gave a young man and family a contract and promise to teach them...n'ah, pull it away.

you shook hands with a prep coach and give one of his kids a scholly but took it away...i'm sure he'll invite you back next year.

    you're in a team sport, but aren't progressing as expected...team doesn't matter...scholly gone.

you got an injury? don't treat it...just walk away...sure you treat it and make millions after treatment, but i'm sure you'll be ok with your bachelors.

anyone that's not making plays...you're all gone. we'll just practice against dummies and watch film. we don't need a practice squad.

i'm sure johnny simon would be ok by you cutting nate. shazier would support you for cutting sabino. i'm sure they would all trust your decision and still rally around you. i'm sure the team would agree with house cleaning and give you 110% everyday and thing you're a genious.

don't pull the pity card and say you want the kids to live long happy healthy life's and you don't want them to hurt and be in "debilitating pain". you came out saying you wanted to get rid of these to free up scholly's for incoming freshman. don't change your tune now since everyone has come out and said you're an idiot. also, i don't know your history/background/proffession, but fyi, i deal with musculoskeletal and spinal pain everyday. i have former mlb players, current and former ncaa athletes that have these issues (one's an msu player who i said i wouldn't see anymore after this year's game...jokingly of course) not to mention h.s. athletes. if you've ever met one of these athletes, none would give up what they're doing or have done b/c of injury...they're elite competitors and this is what they live for

i think you should stop posting...you're loosing ground...not that you started much to begin with.

i'm sure the trainers and physicians did their evaluation and based return to play off the american college of sports medicine guidelines...nice of you to try to define the stage of concussion based of the sideline video though

The Pittsburgh Steelers trainers kept giving Mike Webster the okay to play too and look how that turned out.

ACSM guidelines weren't established until late 90's/early 00's and are refined on a near yearly basis...medicine has come a long way since the 70's...helmets have also improved too...got anything else?

I'm not pulling the pity card, you are. It's much more difficult to deal with chronic pain for the rest of one's life than having to deal with a little emotional pain for a few days because your friend has been cut. There is no comparison between the two. To suggest that they are, is disingenuous.

By the way, are you a quackopractor or massotherapist? Just wondering what kind of so called pain specialist you are.

nope...full fledged double board certified (triple boarded next year) physician with 4 degrees (including training in pain, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and sports medicine), but good job trying the insults and degrading other professions.

one point of advice i have for you was something a lawyer once told me..."don't ask a question unless you already know the answer"
