Well, you'll have to wait until later than the Alabama game to see this reaction from Michigan fans. As I noted in a prior post, there's no Michigan fan who's gonna feel any shame or dissappointment in losing to Alabama on the road in the first game of the season. Now, if we lose to MSU this year, THAT will be a wake-up call that we're not as "back" as we thought we were. But to Alabama? C'mon, man. Get real. All will be forgiven.

If you guys only knew how weak you looked when you thump your chest about how Alabama is going to beat Michigan, you'd keep those thoughts off the public boards. First of all, cheering for another conference to beat your conference's teams is like shitting in your own bed. Second, you should be embarrassed by your cupcake schedule rather than belittling teams who schedule games against the best team in the nation. But more importantly, YOU'D get your ass kicked TOO if you played Alabama!!!! Duh!! So why are you acting like it'll be your victory when the defending national champs, whose jocks you couldn't even hold, hand us our asses? Do you think any UM fan anywhere who isn't smoking crack actually thinks we're gonna win that game? None of us think we're up to their caliber this season, not by a long shot.. heck our newly converted center is sending shotgun snaps into low orbit for chrissakes and we have zero deep-threat WR's (as if Denard could hit one anyway) and don't even get me started on our DT's. The only question on most UM fans' minds is whether we can keep Alabama's lead to a non-embarrassing level for 3 quarters. A 14-point victory by Alabama will not surprise or demoralize UM fans in the slightest, it'll just be another notch in the SEC's belt which is not a good thing for YOUR conference. In fact merely playing the game against Alabama will help UM's strength of schedule in the polls, and the early-season loss won't affect our BCS standings... so again, can't understand how any of this is something for OSU to cheer about. I'd focus more on the OSU-UM matchup if I were you. How's your o-line looking?

How are your skill position players looking? [WELL DENARD IS DENARD, FITZ AND RAWLS ARE REPORTED TO BE DOING GREAT, EVERYONE ELSE IS JUST SO-SO, NOT IMPRESSIVE. WR'S ARE UNINSPIRING.]
Which of your Heisman caliber feature backs is that "great" O-Line of yours going to block for? [DENARD IS OUR ONLY FEATURE BACK ON THE HEISMAN LIST BUT THE O-LINE WILL ALSO BE BLOCKING FOR FITZ WHO RAN 1000 YDS LAST YR DESPITE NOT PLAYING MUCH IN THE FIRST SEVERAL GAMES. THINK HE HAD LIKE 120 YDS AGAINST YOU LAST YEAR, FAIRLY SOLID RB WHEN HE'S HEALTHY.]
The best back on your team would be 6th at best on our depth chart [FOR REALZ? NO EXAGGERATION? DUDE THAT'S INCREDIBLE! I HAD NO IDEA YOUR DEPTH WAS QUITE SO SOLID, THOUGH I KNEW YOU OBVIOUSLY HAD SEVERAL UNPROVEN-BUT-GOOD-LOOKING GUYS ON THE BENCH. GOOD FOR YOU! ARE YOU BASING THIS ON THEIR GAME EXPERIENCE, OR JUST SPRING REPORTS... OR HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITING RATINGS? HOW COME WE DIDN'T SEE THESE 6 STALLIONS ON NOV 26 LAST YEAR, WHEN HERRON LEAD ALL YOUR RB'S WITH 37 YDS AGAINST US? HOW DOES URBAN PLAN TO USE ALL 6 OF THESE GUYS? ARE THEY POWER RUNNERS OR SPREAD GUYS? DOES HE USE A RB COMMITTEE? IS THAT WHY HE'S NEVER PRODUCED A 1000-YD RUSHER?].
Look at your schedule last year, it was terrible. [I KNOW. I THINK SAGARIN RANKED OUR SCHEDULE AT AROUND #44 WHICH WAS RIGHT AROUND WHERE SAGARIN RANKED YOU GUYS LAST YEAR AS WELL. THAT'S EMBARRASSING. WE SHOULD BOTH BE SHOOTING FOR TOP 10%-20% RATHER THAN MERELY TOP THIRD IN THE NATION FOR STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE, BUT IT'S TOUGH WHEN THE BIG TEN HAS A DOWN YEAR, YOU CAN'T CHOOSE YOUR CONFERENCE OPPONENTS, YA' KNOW?]
Your BCS game featured two teams that didn't deserve to be there. [I KNOW. GREAT TO BE IN A BCS GAME BUT I QUESTION WHETHER WE BELONGED THERE. I THINK THE CAPITAL ONE BOWL WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE APPROPRIATE. I HATE THE BCS SYSTEM, THE BID SHOULD'VE GONE TO A MORE DESERVING TEAM, THOUGH I'D BE INTERESTED TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHICH OF THE THREE OR FOUR TEAMS AHEAD OF US ON THE BCS RANKINGS WERE CLEARLY MORE DESERVING... THEY ALL HAD BLEMISHES AFTER ALL, SO IT'S JUST A SUBJECTIVE BEAUTY CONTEST AT THAT POINT. GETTING AN "UNDESERVING" BOWL BID LIKE THAT WAS A BIT EMBARASSING. JUST LIKE HOW YOU GUYS GOT INOT THE NAT'L CHAMPIONSHIP GAME BACK IN 2007 ON THAT FLUKE LOSS BY WVU WHEN PAT WHITE BROKE HIS THUMB, SO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS. HAPPY TO BE THERE, BUT WISHING YOU TRULY "EARNED" IT. THANKFULLY WE ACTUALLY WON OUR PATHETIC NON-DESERVING BCS BOWL... BARELY... SO AT LEAST WE PROVED WE WERE MORE DESERVING THAN THE OTHER UNDESERVING TEAM... BARELY. LOL!]
I'd bet the farm that we would look better against Alabama than SCUM [WOW! YOUR COACH HASN'T TAKEN A SNAP, YOUR PLAYERS ARE LEARNING A WHOLE NEW PLAYBOOK/SCHEME, YOU LOST YOUR BEST RB AND WR, YOUR O-LINE IS ALL NEW... AND YET YOU STILL THINK YOU'D LOOK BETTER THAN SCUM ON THE VERY FIRST GAME OF THE YEAR!? ON THE ROAD? I WANT WHAT YOU'RE DRINKING!! HA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! PRICELESS.]

Fans of both schools can make all the excuses they want. scUM fans laugh at and dismiss our excuses for last year as easily as we laugh at and dismiss theirs for the RichRod years. In the end, they're still excuses and don't change anything. When the final gun goes off, one team wins and the other loses. And that's all that matters. Moral victories don't count. It doesn't matter that scUM barely beat the worst Buckeye team in 114 years any more than it was a moral victory for Toledo to almost be the first Ohio team to beat us in 100 years.
At the end of the day, who really cares about what happened under RichRod or Fickell or Woody and Bo? That history's been written. It's water under the bridge. This is a new day, a new era, Year 1 in Urban versus Hoke. While it's always important that we honor and respect the past and those who came before us, I'm not inclined to waste my life dredging it up and reliving in it. Instead, I'm content to look ahead to a renewed Rivalry, the greatest in all of sports.
