Any word on Dunn?

  • I guess no news is good news at this point. But has anyone heard how, not just Dunn, but all of our 2012 class is feeling about our current situation? And has anyone heard if Dunn will withdrawal his commitment if tOSU gets slammed? Just wonderin.

  • I have zero insight, behind the scenes or otherwise, on his status but I have this uneasy feeling that we'll see an 11th hour switch-er-o to the blue. Have read here & there that kalis has slyly indicated he thinks as much but we likely won't know until the penalties are delivered. He is a beast and is undoubtedly a must get but his recruitment hasn't been all aces to this point. Again I have no insight on this or much else just a hunch :). hope I'm wrong.

  • Well, we are not expecting stiff sanctions.

Ergo, with the strong possibility of Urban coming I don't see Dunn switching his commitment. The only reason he would switch maybe is because of depth and competition for a spot but that hasn't been an issue for him yet, at least publically.

If it is an issue, then I could see him make the switch.

A few weeks ago at the Mich St game there was plenty of chatter about Dunn up in the boxes and much of it was about him going to Michigan and him keeping quiet until after the season because he does not want to deal with the negative feedback he would get from OSU fans.

On the other hand, I have heard Dustin Fox (who went to the same high school) mention that Dunn is still committed to OSU at this point unless sanctions are bad..

  • Another kid on today front page might deserve some mention here as well, Deveon Smith. I know bird in hand right, but out of these two "options" which is the better back, they seem to both be the same type of bruiser back that we like.

  • I think everyone's in a wait-and-see mode in terms of sanctions and HC. What's the hurry? It's not like anyone's enrolling tomorrow. Dunn should know Michigan and others will find room for him. If I'm him, despite the mess, I'd be encouraged by the fact that no one's stepped up at RB, which means he has a real shot at starting as a true FR. Hyde's been OK but aside from one big run, he hasn't been outstanding. Jordan Hall will be a SR. Rod Smith's barely played the last 3 games. Who knows what's going on with Jamaal Berry, just one more FLA scatback lost in the shuffle at OSU (see Maurice Wells). The 2/3-star recruits (Roberts, Boren, Murray) are going to stick no matter what. This is their lucky year. Without all this mess and with the talent in Ohio this year, in any other year they wouldn't even warrant a sniff from OSU, much less a scholarship.

  • If he is a true Buckeye then he will stick with his commitment. If not, let him go elsewhere. I want kids that want to be here and be a part of building the next great program at tOSU.

I've read somewhere that if Meyer came to OSU, that would be the one thing that would make Dunn de-commit? Anyone else hear that?

You read that on this site. Just another statement by one of our posters with absolutely no validity, pure conjecture!

  • If Dunn was going to de commit he would have done it already. All along he has stated he was a Buck commit and wasn't changing. But yet people keep coming on here saying they hear otherwise from unknown sources. i don't think there are too many campuses a high school recruit will visit these days that they won't come home from saying they had a great time and that the visit was amazing. You get treated first class and all the facilities these days are top notch. At the end of the day its where a player feels at home, and Dunn has said and done nothing to make one think otherwise.

I think the only possible reason to de commit would be if we get hit hard on sanctions, which i don't think we do.

The better recruiting news is that Washington and Stanford announce together on November 9th and hopefully that starts more good news for the Bucks.

I also heard they were announcing together in November. This will be a great boost in helping recruiting. This would further help Dunn to understand it's Ohio State and everything is going to be ok!

  • FWIW the Rivals Michigan site mods all say its just a matter of time before he switches. Kalis slipped up and included Dunn in a comment he made about the guys in this UM class. He awkwardly back tracked and pointed out that Dunn is not commited to UM.

There has been things mentioned like this before. It makes a person wonder. He and his cousin want to play at the same school and rumors he didn't want to go through the crap during the season Kalis went through. I think he is still a Buckeye but if he leaves it's his choice

  • I am absolutely disgusted by the amount of Ohio kids going to SCUM next year, ESPECIALLY the linebackers in the class. Why the hell would they want to play for jabba the hut? They have 23 commits, how many can they take?

The NCAA is fucking OSU; get your god damn sanctions out there so the school knows what direction it is heading. It amazing they let Auburn off already, SEC gets preference obviously.

Ohio state would have to of offered Bolden or Ringer for you to be upset. Personally I thought ringer would get an offer. His brother should have as well but we know how good Javon turned out for Mich St, Kaleb will also be a stud.

Well, if your opinion is true and the NCAA is screwing with OSU, then why would a high school kid want to come here if he thinks OSU will be hit by the NCAA. It makes no sense to want to come to place that could face harsh sanctions. Let this all play out and we wiil see in Dec and into the new year where these kids go.

Evened it out for you. :) anyways kids are kids. They will always have second thoughts about where they want to play. No use getting all worked up. It all works out in the 95% of the time.
