TBF, we are in desperate need of a 2-3 more offensive lineman and 1-2 playmakers on offense. Now, if we get those, everyone will have to stop making that argument. But, if a few fall through, we will have definitely ignored need positions. My guess is we will only get one more Olineman and we will be thin at that position but will get the playmaking WRs.

I think at this point Urban wants speed so badly he's taking perhaps a little more at some positions then others, but I totally trust a coach with his resume. I'm already blown away by the 2013 class and he hasn't really had a full year to recruit, that 2014 class is going to be insane. I 100% trust and support whatever players Meyers recruits at this point.

For the love of football!! Urban knows how to recruit. Two NC playing in the sec. Hate saying that but it's true. He beat the shit out of our Buckeyes. How? His F ing defense was totally awesome. Stop roaming other boards. They are just jealous as hell. Go look at the gator's when they won the two NC. The defense set up the offense.

One more lineman and we will be "THIN" at that position? When is the last time you looked at the Depth Chart? We have so many able and healthy bodies on the Depth Chart, that Warriner went ahead and put Carter over on the Defense, and we still have 14 Scholarships there plus 4 or 5 preferred walk ons that are better than the scholarship lineman on half of the other D l schools in the Country. We already have Lisle, and I am assuming they will get Posic, so how the Hell are we "THIN" at that position?
We haven't been this deep since the scholarship limit was dropped to the 85 limit from 130. I have NEVER been more excited about the youth and depth of a team like I am NOW. Almost all of the DEAD scholarships are off the team. And the marginal ones are at least playing Special Teams.
The only position I continue to worry about is Safety for the next 2 years 2013 and 2014 with 6 bodies leaving on top of the 3 that just left.
I posted a thread couple months ago that all of our needs (except for Safety) were met in 2012 recruiting, and that 2013 would be just recruiting for depth, and a chance to go after the absolute cream de la creame. And that is exactly what Urban is doing. Why do you think he let the 5 or 6 Ohio boys cut and run to Michigan who would have committed to Tressel, had Tressel still been here? They are all 4 star players in some services' eyes - but not good enough for Urban. But yet he went after a 3 star Tracey Sprinkle, and a 3 star Lewis Neal.
Either the Ohio boys are not 4 stars, or these guys are not 3 stars (in my eyes), cuz this Lewis Neal is the Real Deal. He DOES start for his HS team! I will take him over the TACO kid everyday of the week. And I will take BOTH Baugh and Heuerman over Jake Butt at TE as well. As a matter of fact, before he committed to them; I thought he would be recruited as a DE and not a TE. I didn't even know he was a TE.
As far as the OP comment. Penn State is not in the same position we are in, and clearly obvious that those fans are jealous of our situation. They don't sit down and analyze our depth chart to see how young or how deep we really are. The next two years' senior classes are both small. We have soo many Freshmen and Sophomores on this team, and Urban will play them as he is known for.
We all know Michael Thomas is starting at WR right out of the shoot. Luke Roberts will be playing backup MLB in the first game. Jacoby Boren will play backup Center in the first game Taylor Decker is backup LT in the first game. Brionte Dunn may get some PT in the very first game. Josh Perry was in the two deep before he got hurt. SeVon Pittman was impressive before he got hurt. T Powell will get some PT in the secondary.
And I haven't even mentioned studs like Spence and Washington and Bogard and Murray, and Dodson, because they are not enrolled yet. But as soon as they do, I am sure that Urban will give them every opportunity to compete for an opening.

Why did we come up short in the two BCS championships against the SEC? Our OL and DL were dominated!! Looks like to me Meyer is addressing the DL. Our front seven is going to be nasty! Meyer knows what he is doing, he'll always be able to get skill guys in every class. Depth on the lines is his main focus now. Watch LSU & Bama, they rotate their D lines, stay fresh (both go about 8-10 deep) and don't miss a beat! That's his goal here! Michigan is loading up on the OL, I believe we are out recruiting them with our D line in the last two classes.

Are we filling needs or "grabbing stars"?
