Bri'onte Dunn Arrested

  • great2belucky said...

turns out he was cited with weed as well. may be a little worse than i initially expected, still dont foresee any huge suspension or anything but im not the one to make the decisions. also, us big tenners have no more room to make in fun of the sec athletes. our guys are just as bad.

Think you may be underestimating "UrbanWrath"...A "call-out" kid possibly w/ weed in the car or on his person?...Certainly circumstantial evidence until the whole story comes out, but if guys "peeing and fleeing" incur punitive assessment, I do not think this will be pretty, nor end well, unless proven beyond reasonable doubt to be all the fault of passenger(s).

    That's not circumstantial, bro.

He'll likely get hit pretty hard because Urban is making a point to be hard on the kids. We'll see how hard it will be soon. Though, I certainly consider running from the cops as a bigger deal than having a bit of pot.

Agreed. These things are not really huge in the grand scheme of things, but as long as marijuana is illegal, Urban has to come down harsh. Dunn seems like a good kid, he will learn from this and be better for it.

Amen to that. When I saw that WKNR first reported the story, I wan't surprised at all. They love to Buckeye bash, I guess that comes with the ESPiN affiliation. Nor was I surprised they got the story wrong, he wasn't arrested. That's the kind of quality reporting I've come to expect from WKNR, they probably had Hooley on the case. I only listen to 92.3 for sports now, can't stand WKNR anymore.

Tail light infraction? Sounds like they were not going to leave anything on the table.

That is probably the reason they pulled him over in the first place.

I just sure as hell wish they'd wise up about it and leave it behind the doors of their home/apartment whatever.....how many times does it take guys seriously?!

How many of your teammates have been caught for it in the past?! Leave the $hit at home fellas!!

    Please!

    I hope you're right.

Jamal Berry never seemed to fully recover from it.....he turned out to be a nice, mature kid with class....but it took him a while to get there. He had his share of problems and talk about having talent!

I hope the path that Berry had to travel is not the same 1 Dunn ends up going down....

Probably. That's why I wish these guys would start wising up and leave the $hit at home....if he could have done that he probably wouldn't have even received a ticket for the tail light......instead probably just a warning.

Oh, all kids get into trouble, no doubt about it. I think the punishment system is just a lot different in the Big Ten and other conferences than it is in the SEC. For example, I believe it was last year or the year before, didn't LSU's starting QB and another player beat the hell out of a military member at a bar a week or two before the season started -- I believe they were charged with a felony. I think he had maybe a 1 or 2 game suspension once the court process determined he wouldn't have to serve jail time.

last year, was charged with a felony but it was reduced to a misdemeanor, not sure how long his technical suspension was but he did not play in a game until the bama lsu kickers showdown pt. 1

I looked it up real quick -- he was suspended and as soon as it was reduced from a felony 2 to a misdemeanor by a grand jury he was right back on the field the next game (as you said, the 'Bama game). Call me crazy, but I have serious doubts any team in this conference would've allowed him to play in the next game.

Bruce Hooley is 10 times better then the clown act in Columbus of Torg and The Commom Man on 97.1.These guys are terrible.

  • Dunn obviously doesn't know how to follow ANY rules since he had four violations. I hate to hear people say I don't care if they smoke weed. If the rule is don't smoke it while playing football at tOSU, then don't smoke it! Why do people feel they are not accountable for their actions anymore and can do whatever they want. If everyone follows the rules you will have a much better locker room and more united team. Did we not learn anything over the last 18 months.

I think Dunn would be gone in half the time if he goes the same route Beery went, there is a new sheriff in town fellas and he ain't playin with this stupid assed mistakes.

  • Buckeyelouie..agree with you Bro..if you are told not to smoke pot..then suffer the consequences if you do. It really is that simple. I leave it up to Coach Meyer to determine the punishment. I will have to say...I bet Urban is getting tired of this stuff. Urban hasn't even coached his first game and there have been 4 arrests just this summer. Not making Urban look good.

That's just the light punishment you are all PRAYING for!! It's like you think Urban is reading these boards for your input or something.

Based on the standard Urban has set.... he's gone or suspended for a long time.

You guys are complete IDIOTS for acting like this is no big thing. The better the player the less of a big deal it is to you all. You people are everything that's wrong with college football!

    Makes me sick.
