I honestly think the SEC is the best conference in football, but I also believe that ESPN has a bias toward the SEC. This article I'm sure will find a welcome audience on this board. lol

I put moratorium on sec bias talk
Impressive article by Chuck Thompson. I hadn't thought about this before as he presents it.
Thanks for the find and sharing it, TresselFan!
I have been saying this for some time now, about the SEC having many teams rated so high that they will not fall down after loses due to the fraud BS going on.
I think times will change though in the near future. SEC has been talking about making their own network. This will lower the contract exposure to ESPN. This could also be a stab in the back and make ESPN start removing their lips from SEC %%^$# you know what. I also think that within the next several years a SEC will not win the championship and the drop off will continue for a little run.
Hate to say this but I think the Big12 is going to make a strong run at it, once they get back to adding more teams to get their Big12 championship money back. I also think that with the rise of OSU and UM in the next 3-4 years, we will have a shot at a title as well.
Actually a very intersting article ... Thx for posting
As soon as a non-SEC school wins a NC, people will be screaming the dynasty's over.
Sports streaks are often cyclical. The SEC's on top now and deservedly, in my opinion. But we'll see what happens after the playoffs start in 2014. The odds of winning three games will be obviously a lot tougher than winning one (conference championship game, playoff game, NC). I think it's going to be a lot harder for a HUMAN selection committee to justify putting a 1-loss team that didn't even win its conference championship game into the playoffs over the champions from the other five BCS conferences plus a 1-loss ND and non-AQ teams that may have an undefeated season, ala Hawaii, Utah, TCU, Boise State, and Houston the past several years.
Not a surprise at all. A lot of this is pretty common knowledge by folks who pay attention and this writer did a nice job laying it out for those who don't follow cfb quite as closely as others. ESPiN agenda? Check. Check. Check. Still, there are a few folks with their heads buried in the sand who seem to think there is no agenda. Laughable.
Got to hand it to you, Razor. You've been saying this stuff for some time now.
The writer of the article put it out there so I could easily understand it.
Some of us aren't as up to speed as others.
Its hard for any open minded person to ignore the argument he makes or those facts he shows on head to head competition. Of course the world is full of closed minded morons so ignoring this article won't be difficult for many. I've often pointed out how the poll system sets up unfavoralble bias.
SEC is great because without a single game played, they have 4 to 6 teams ranked ridiculously high. This is all done without one single football game being played. Its done in a vacuum without playing cross conference. SEC teams don't need to play tough teams in OOC because their conference benifits from ridiculously high preseason rankings.
I'm glad the new system will have a committee choosing the teams so now we can forever put to rest that broken and fatally flawed voter polling system. I have never seen a more retarded way of doing things in my life. There is a reason why nobody else has a system like that. Its because it doesn't work.

Thanks for the kudos Jimmy, and for the record you were NOT one of those I was referencing. :) Mainly directed that at folks who've insulted me and others on this side of the fence over our viewpoints. Nothing but respect for you sir and what you bring to this site.
Still wondering what insite you bring to the site or why you are here?
I don't agree with this guy, sorry.
It doesn't matter where these guys start out ranked in the polls. Auburn was undefeated the year they won. Are we arguing that they got to number 1 because they beat over hyped teams from the SEC to get there? How about Alabama. Clearly the best team when they won.
Was there another team that should have played the Buckeyes instead of FLA? I recall people on here arguing no to MI rematch. How about LSU when they beat us?
Go back to the past 6 or however many in a row these guys have won and let me know who should have been in the title game instead of one of these SEC teams who got there because ESPN and the voters over value them.
