Chip Kelly Leaves Oregon; flying away from the Ducks to the Eagles
I wonder if Urban will get an in with any recruits such as Dontre Wilson or Thomas Tyner

paging dontre wilson, paging dontre wilson. with this news im sure urban just hopped on the private jet to visit dontre in texas
Great find, +1
He is going to a team that has a loaded offense. The only issue is the QB. They will need to go after a QB such as Geno Smith or a Boyd from Clemson. Great hire for them. As for college football. This is huge, Oregon should no longer be a top 5 team. Yes the coach does matter that much. His assistant will not be calling the plays exactly like him. As others have said, maybe this will affect the decision now of Wilson to flip or at the least make some of the other recruits IE: Gibson, Elder to try to reach out and commit.
Well we'll see if this helps with Dontre, although I've seen it noted in various recruiting updates that Dontre has said if Chip Kelly goes to the NFL, the OC is supposed to be promoted to HC and he runs the same offense as chip so it may not make a difference to him. We'll see though. (and hope)
T. Boyd has already stated that he's going back to Clemson.
Maybe he wants Tony Romo? I'm sure my Cowboys will part ways and give him up?
East Coast Player Known for Knocking Fools Out One At A Time!
that was before he pulled this move. oregon is about to be hammered by the ncaa
I think this gives us a shot with Wilson.
I also think it means Oregon will get hit with a bowl ban an scholly reductions and Chip is jumping ship... now that's the hallmark of a great leader.
"Buckeye born and bred, a Buckeye 'til I'm dead"
I am hopeful that Meyer can get him out here for a visit. That will REALLY help.
Chip Kelly........ He gone!!
HMMM... Didn't he just claim he was staying like a week ago. Awful fast change of heart. Might have caught wind of some bad news.
Was thinking the same, or just a ploy to get more money from Philly. Either way.
missed that one! thanks
Yes, Oregon is about to get smoked, Seattle salmon style.
Mark Schlereth said this perfectly. Kelly's offensive scheme had better change drastically. Offenses that rely as heavily on ball fakes as his will get stopped. Guys at this level are too good without putting bodies on them. He then went on to show multiple clips with Oregon's bread and butter plays leaving as many as four guys unblocked, but biting on play fakes. This WILL be a bust as he is about to learn the hard way that odds are extremely high you must have NFL experience to coach the NFL.
@Derek11W: The Robinson twins offered by #OhioState are 2013 prospects. Tyree is an ATH and Tyrell a LB.
Not sure I understand these offers. I thought we needed a true WR.
here's some potential hope...

Tha's what I'm betting! He was told two weeks ago they were going to skate. Now, maybe he finds out different. That, or Philly just put a whole bunch more in the piggy bank.

If this is true, I'd say it looks really good for us to land this kid. At any rate, with so many late WR offers going out, we are bound to land one solid WR.
I also just read on 11W that Alex and Co. now believe that Bell's trip went really well and that his brother's tweets did not accurately reflect Bell's sentiments about the trip. They seemed to indicate that we held a slight edge on Bama and that Bell's relationhip to Meyer and Whithers was at least as strong if not stronger than Bell's relationship to Saban.
Maybe Meyer wants to finish with the #1 class this year.
Ha! I asked in the thread last week about Brian Kelly interviewing, "Are there any other coaches named Kelly out there because the Eagles seem bound and determined to hire one of them."
Looks like they got one, after all!
I don't see us going after Thomas Tyner. Maybe Wilson but Oregon's expected to promote their OC to HC and you can bet he'll do everything he can to keep their class intact, which starts with running the same offense that attracted Wilson in the first place.
yea I feel most sorry for the kids that he told he was staying.
Robinson twins say they are saying. Haven't heard about Wilson.
Robinson twins are saying they havent heard about Wilson?????

There yooou are. Where have you been Bri?
I thought that you would be on here "dancing a jig" or something as a result of today's
How ya feeling about the Kelly hire? Are you happy or are you ready to put a pistol in your mouth? Does this improve the Eagles' lot in life and hopes of winning more than 3 games next year?
As a Cowboy, I'm indifferent because the Cowboys have enough problems to worry about. Cough..Cough....Tony romo...Cough!
At any rate, what are you thinking on the Kelly hire?

A WR is needed. Now with Gibson out of the picture, it explains all of these late offers.
Im not sure man. On one hand the guy is an offensive GIANT. On the other hand he has zero coaching experience in the NFL.
I cant remember the last time the Eagles went through a change like this. Was really hoping they would push hard for Lovie Smith or the Gruden rumors a couple weeks ago were true.
SIAP...about Gibson. What the hell happened? Anyone know or is the staff simply sick of his BS and ready to move on?
I knew something was up as the act was starting to get old. Maybe Coach Meyer has "fresh fish" on the line? Either way, Meyer is NO FRACKIN JOKE! He's letting these damn kids and the coaches know that he is not playing around!!
