As a national contender, it's over for Oregon. The Ducks had A good run during Kelly's years, but the Duck fans that I have talked to agree that his leaving most likely means a bowl ban and scholarship sanctions are coming. And not even Daddy Warbucks, Phil Knight, can stop or forestall it.
Before Kelly the Ducks were a middle-of-the-road team and there's no reason to believe that They will be anything else now that Kelly is gone. Even the "Blue-bloods" of college football have a difficult time recovering from bowl bans and sanctions. Oregon Is not and never has been a perennial elite team nor do they not have the tradition nor the widespread fan base to keep up momentum and keep from dropping back into mediocrity.
Here in Oregon, Duck fans are in stunned disbelief, see the writing on the wall, and crying in their beer.
Patrick : "What do you think about the Ohio State hire?" Hoke: "Not...not good"
Someone started a thread about it on the front row. Apparently Rivals broke the story, but it's premium, so I can't read it. However I've read that Gibson might have some issues with the NCAA Clearinghouse which is why he hasn't committed anywhere yet.
probably didnt get the needed sat or act score (not sure which one he was taking). that was his problem the entire time and by the time he has to decide on a college he wont be able to take the test again and have the results
Well, I guess his grades/test scores were good enough for West Virginia...he just committed.
If so, I assume Urban knows it and that explains the recent offers to James Clark and Kyrin Priester and possibly Corey Smith. Coaches cannot comment publicly on recruits until they've signed their LOIs but we can still read between the lines--the class is filling up and WR is a priority and if Gibson wants in, he'd better commit now, even if it's a silent verbal and he wants to wait until NSD ala Dodson, which is all well and good, but if that's the case, again, why is Urban offering other WRs?
WVU probably has lower admissions standards than OSU so while he may not qualify to be admitted to Ohio State, he might at WVU.
The longer this gets drawn out, the less confident I am Gibson will be a Buckeye.
Time to move on!!

my dog can get into wvu
Well, there you have it. If only I'd waited 7 minutes longer or typed lot faster.
Don't tell that to Gibson or Latwan Anderson!
Maybe these dudes and your doggie will share a class or two?
Come on down, Dontrel Wilson, James Clark, Kyrin Priester, or Corey Smith.
BTW, was looking at WVU's commit list. They have an OL named Stone Underwood...what a great name...it's like straight out of a Hollywood movie! He could have been Remington Steele's sidekick.
Exactly. From the stuff I've seen in the past 12 hours on Gibson, it looks overwhelmingly to be a grades / test score issue. He can't make it in here, but WVU will take just about anybody.
i mean im not trying to be an ass, but wvu is not a difficult school to get into.
