I though that the story about him literally leaving Texas Tech recruits in the middle of a dinner to take the Cincy job was bad. I think this is even worse. At least have the decency to call these kids.
You reap what you sow and Tuberville will ultimately fail at UC, which is a shame because I grew up in Cincinnati and have always supported the Cats as my hometown team (XU too). I like to see UC do well but his hiring made no sense other than it's the last stop for him in his career, UC is tired of being a revolving door for coaches, and the AD worked with Tuberville previously at Auburn. UC wouldn't even be considered a lateral move compared to Texas Tech. He has no real motivation to win, just to hang on a few more years.
And he has exhibited no class whatsoever, from slapping his GA on the sideline to bolting in the middle of dinner with commits--which, frankly, I can actually kind of understand because he of legal issues that may have contractually barred him from representing Tech and having contact with its employees and recruits once he accepted the UC job but still feels slimy--to now this. These kids now have to scramble to find a place if UC won't take them. And the question is who's Tuberville expect to get? Butch Jones knew how to recruit...why not honor those commitments, as Urban did? (Even his wife seems kind of shady after she killed a man when her car t-boned his after she ran a stoplight.)
There needs to be some legislation that says if a kid commits to school and the coach leaves, whether he's fired, resigns or takes another job somewhere, the school is still bound to honor the commitment. It's also another reason why CFB needs an early signing period ala basketball. It gives the players protection. If the coach leaves, the players have the option to nullify the LOI but the school does not.
Really leaves you with a sick feeling in your stomach
How firm thy friendship O-HI-O
Here is another good one...
Glad you posted that Renegade -- I was going to post that as well. And that's just the start. Word will get around. Ohio hs coaches are tight knit for the most part and word will spread to encourage their kids to stay away from Cincinnati.
Things are not boding well for him at UC.
Wow, just lost respect for the guy. Character only goes in a sentence with his name if bad or lack is included.
I never liked Tupperville. I always thought he was a piece of shit!
Exactly, it should be Taba$hit. I could not understand when Cinci hired him and I understand it even less now. Just a mattter of time until Cinci has to unload him and I hope it isn't too late by then. BIG MISTAKE BY CINCI.
Not sure how equating Shitterville to an a-hole is breaking news
Sorry bfbuckeye, not breaking news to me. This guyhas always been a major A Hole. Go back and listen how he talked about Ohio State. This guy has always been crap
