Hard to ask the big man to come back for another season. He was a redshirt Junior already. I would not be surprised if someone picked him up in the 2nd round next year. He's that explosive. Plus injury concerns in a 5th year at Ohio State and his draft stock could plummet.
With that said, I'm sure Urban will set him on the right course.

"We've also heard that Carlos Hyde is seriously contemplating an early exit, which is not great news if you have visions of an undefeated 2013 dancing in your head, but it's early and a lot can still change."
I will still hold out hope that he returns to make a NC run, but will not blame him if he goes if the NFL projection report says things he wants it to say.
A few things that Carlos has going for him, that could lead to him declaring for the draft one year early:
-Very little wear and tear on his body for a big back who plays a physical, punishing style. He's had basically the equivalent of one full season's worth of carries during his college career, for nearly 1,700 yards and 22 TDs. NFL teams like that, because they know RB's wear out and they can count on him, most likely, for a year or two more than the average RB.
-He has not been injury-prone. Yes, he missed 2-3 games this season, but that was because of a knee sprain, not some bumps and bruises that kept him out, or took him out of a game.
-His size/speed factor. If what we heard in the spring about his 40 times are accurate, he will do extremely well at the combine and impress a lot of people for his speed with his body-type and running style.
-There are no truly great RB prospects in this draft class, and you could argue Hyde is as good as any other back in this draft class. Everyone else has a question mark attached to them, whether it be size, speed, burst, hits taken in college, durability, etc. The guys currently at the top of most draft lists are Joseph Randle, Giovanni Bernard, Eddie Lacy, Jonathan Franklin, Andre Ellington, Montee Ball, Le'Veon Bell, Stepfan Taylor, Mike Gillislee... The list goes on and the amount of question marks associated with each player continues to build.
I'd love Hyde to come back, and I think he'd serve himself well to do so. I also think if he gets a pretty good draft grade from the scouts, he should seriously consider going now. Strike while the iron is hot and during the year where there is essentially no franchise backs coming out.
Why do people on here start these rumors about Carlos Hyde leaving when hey don't have concrete evidence that he is leaving. Carlos hasn't said he is leaving. Another year of experience would probably boost his worth in the draft.
you can't say that....if he runs for 2k yards and wins a heisman i would guess his stock would go up.
and how did another yr of experience work out for Landry Jones? Or Barkley?
You just never know.
my wife works with his aunt and he has already publically stated he is coming back, in fact, just a few days ago there was a story on here about how he is excited for next year.
agreed, but I think QBs should leave when they get the chance as well.....if they want.
Sounds like the decision is still up in the air from Hyde. Bit of info in Alex from 11W's latest article on the subject:
He's currently projected as the #10 RB off the board which will be a mid-round pick.
Hope he comes back!
I can not blame him, especially if the snail Hall comes back. Hall is somehow the darling and Smith, Dunn and OSU will be the non benificiaries. Hyde would make an NFL team smart enough to tag him, a good reliable back.
