If, according to a few sites, he is indeed going to "announce" his school of choice on NSD at 4 PM...I can't see a scenario where this ends well for us. Why would one need to announce something that's been known for nearly 10 months? Tough break if so, really looked forward to him joining the team.
I think he realized he screwed up announcing early and wants it to be a little more exciting, he wants his moment in the spotlight like all the other star recruits!!
WWW.WTSAC.ORG Woody & Tony's Strokes Against Cancer.
I hope so IB.
I really don't recall but didn't Dodson do that last yr although it benefited us.
I still think this is the coolest announcement I've ever seen.
i think he decommitted first though, that's the thing here. EE is still committed.
last year there was a def. end who was committed to alabama but was told on national signing day they wanted him to grayshirt, so he signed and faxed in his loi to arkansas without ever having stepped foot on campus. it's hard to beat one for making last-second choices.
i don't know. he doesn't strike me as that kind of recruit.
i think he's torn. the problem is the longer he waits, the more i think it favors missouri. but that option always existed. why now?
The longer he waits for what?
He can't do anything until signing day anyway. He's already verbally committed...he's not going to verbally commit again before signing day.
He's going to announce that he's signing with tOSU.
If he were torn......I think several things would have to be in play here.
1. Dontre Wilson would have to have opened up his recruitment and de-commit from Oregon. That hasn't happened.
2. Elliot would in no way be that dis-respectful to this staff. He would have pulled his verbal commitment so this staff would have the opportunity to push for another RB or another recruit.
I just have a hard time believing this kid would go that route......and announce that he's spurned Ohio State for a school that quite frankly can't hold Ohio States jock strap!!
I mean come on people.....would this kid embarrass himself nationally like that? If this were a top flight school like Bama' , Florida, USC, Texas, Georgia, Notre Dame ( I say that one loosely!) etc. etc......then I'd be concerned.
It would be like Bama' verbal commit Derrick Henry announcing on signing day that his choice was Northwestern....a good school that's recently been competitive.......but that's about it.
If he announces that he's going to Missouri a lot of people will be scratching their heads.....and I'm not talking just about Buckeye fans.....but the college football world!

I actually think he's waiting to see what Wilson does on LOI Day. He's not stupid. Meyer could be telling EE what he wants to hear but he knows he could be telling Wilson the same thing. If EE gets word that Wilson faxed his LOI in, he's not coming to tOSU IMO. By 4PM he will know for certain.
But with that said, he just made things that much harder on himself if/when he does come to tOSU IMO. Talking about someone who has to prove that he wants to compete?
Take a look at Moms twitter, she's an attention hound, wasn't going to use the other word. If he's anything like her trust me he want the attention.
Folks on here keep using phrases like "the longer this plays out" and " the longer it takes him to decide". As far as he's concerned he's made his decision and has decided to be done talking to reporters as he is ready to move on...
By the way, Meyer would've made it to Frankfort, KY to visit Timmons if he was told he was not getting a signature from EE.
He's not waiting to see what Wilson does.
Wilson is not coming here. He's pretty solid at Oregon and if he flips at all he will stay home and play for Texas.
On top of which....it has been widely discussed and widely known by many that Wilson was being recruited to play WR.
He hasn't made things harder on himself. Are you freakin' kidding me?!! What....are you going to give him a ton of $hit for it?!! That's on you or any other fan that doesn't have a life....not Elliot!
Lastly....Urban Meyer has probably told Elliot the same thing Jim Tressel would have told Elliot...which is probably the same thing Nick Saban would have told Elliot....which is probably the same thing Mack Brown....would have told Elliot...which is the same thing Bob Stoops....would have told Elliot.......
If you can play....you'll play. If you go out there and make it perfectly clear that I can't keep you off the field because you are that good.....you will play. You will have to beat out the guys in front of you....to play. You are going to have to show me something special.....to play.
You don't build a successful program by lying to your recruits and if you're telling them what they want to hear....you are lying to them.
This is nothing more than a chance for him to celebrate his scholarship with his family, coaches and classmates. it's his last big day as a high school kid and I'm sure he wants all those to enjoy it.
If he shocks the world and picks Missouri I will still congratulate him on his achievement. Would absolutely love to get him but if it's meant to be it's meant to be.
I still firmly believe the kid is 100% Buckeye!
Wait a minute. Lots of kids decommit prior to NSD and verbal for another school. Hell, Anzalone did it twice, as did Tony Stevens. Derrick Henry did it to Georgia. None of them waited until NSD to flip. Not everyone wants the Kyle Dodson experience or to do it on national TV like the guys who will be announcing live on ESPNU: http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/70787/nsd-tv-announcement-schedule
EZE seems like a pretty level-headed kid. I've watched interviews with him and he seems very humble, genuine and down to earth. Thus, I, too, think he's undecided because if it's OSU, why not just come out and reaffirm? He publicly said he was afraid of the negative backlash from Buckeye Nation once word got out that he was visiting Mizzou. So why string it out?
And if he knows it's Mizzou, to your point about not disrespecting our staff, which (supposedly) stopped recruiting RBs once he committed (although I think both Wilson and Marshall fit that category more than WR but at least Marshall committed before Elliott), why wait until NSD? Why embarrass Urban that way?
As far as the world scratching its head if he doesn't pick OSU, there are a lot of kids who do things we wouldn't want they to do. But it's his life and his choice and I respect that. We all should.
I disagree, I don't think his mom is an attention hound.
I have no idea why your confused about my post.
What's your point?
One, I wasn't confused, Two, I made my point. You said, (quote) "The longer he waits for what? He can't do anything until signing day anyway. He's already verbally committed...he's not going to verbally commit again before signing day."
And I'm saying that if he knew, if he was sure, why not just say one or another? Either he's fully committed to OSU or he's going to Mizzou? Why string it out?
I think my point was pretty clear. Sorry you're confused.

You need to re-read my post again.
I said he's a good, level headed kid. Backlash? Exactly.....just take a look at this board. I don't blame him. He's already said everything that he needs to say. He's actually not stringing anything out. A visit is a visit. Big deal. Like I said...and I'll say it again.....I think this is the type of kid that has very good parents....and I highly highly doubt he will pick Missouri......without having withdrawn his commitment from tOSU. Most especially out of respect for the coaching staff. My point exactly....and to your question....why would he embarrass Urban Meyer that way?
I don't think he would. What don't you understand about that?
You just confused the hell out of me Iowa....
I can't believe we've now stooped to stalking a kid's mom on Twitter looking for clues and then calling her names. This is a woman whose husband has been known to post on Bucknuts. That's who we want them to think Ohio State fans are? A bunch of foulmouthed lunatics? It reminds me of the scene in Diehard where the sleazebag reporter goes to John McClain's wife's house and interviews his kids on TV while their hostage mother's jaw drops as she watches. Is being a bunch of creeps what this has come down to?
Newsflash: Twitter, by design, is an attention-seeking medium. That's why it exists--so that we can be fascinated with the most mundane things in other people's lives or the random musings of their idling brains. hey, guess what? I just took a dump and it stinks...I've got to log onto Twitter and tell the whole world!
What we have hear is a failure to communicate.
Using reason and logic.
He's not stringing anything out. The way things currently stand, he's verbally committed to Ohio State. At this point.....unless he withdrew his commitment to Ohio State...which he has not done....do we agree on this?.....why then would he repeat exactly what he did back in April 2012 and for the 2nd time....verbally commit to Ohio State....when he's currently....already verbally committed to Ohio State....and on top of which national signing day is just 5 days away and will be a much bigger platform?
Does that make any sense to you? It certainly does to me.
If Elliot withdrew his verbal commitment to Ohio State and was waiting for signing day to announce his commitment...then.....yes, I'd be a lot more concerned.
Since he has not done that.....My opinion is that he is going to have a very nice day with his family, class mates and coaches.....and make a nice media day out of it. That';s what I believe he is doing. These kids today with all the media like to make some headlines especially on the local level....like it or not. It is what it is.....he's a young guy and this is an exciting time in his life.
Based on those things Iowa.....knowing that he has not withdrawn his verbal to Urban Meyer....I don't see him flopping at the very last minute. That would not show good sportsmanship. It would leave Urban Meyer with a pretty big hole in his recruiting class.
It wouldn't be a class act for this kid to do that. I don't think he's going to do that. At the same time.....I think he's going to enjoy a little bit of the excitement he's created.
Or worst case scenario....
He's going to pull off the ultimate April fools prank of the century on Buckeye nation....
That's the worst case scenario.
Who cares where Elliott ends up? The only people who should be concerned are Elliott and his parents. They need to do what's best for them. This is the mistake that some fans find themselves caught up in. They get attached to certain players....so and so is my favorite player. I don't care who the players are. I'm a fan of tOSU....as Seinfeld once said, I root for the laundry....the scarlet and gray. I could care less about the names on the back of the shirts so long as they are players who make plays and lead us to titles (and don't break any laws). I don't care if the names are Elliott, Hyde, Smith, or McCringleberry....just make a play.
Agree...all the best to him wherever he so chooses. We'll be a NC contender with or without him so good for us if he comes here, we'll be fine if he doesn't.
And I still find it very strange and somewhat "stalkerish" how people follow Twitter accounts pertaining to kids and their parents.
Getting tired of this thread. If the kids goes then go. All of a sudden he has become a prima donna and is hiding under a rock and won't discuss his recruitment.
Life is all about competition, and wanting to be the best and playing against the best. If the kid stays it says a lot about him. If he heads to Mizzu all the best playing in the basement of the SEC.
Sorry for the rant, but getting tired of all these kids who think everyone owes them something. Everything in life should be earned that include playing time!
