I'd expect Zeke to do that, but not as much as Marshall or Wilson. I honestly don't want Wilson unless it's primarily as a WR.. even then I want James Clark or Carrington over him. Not really on this Dontre Wilson train.. esp if it's making Zeke visit other places. I'd much rather have Zeke than Wilson. Pretty much only want Wilson if we can't land any other WRs or we lose Zeke.
Apparently the coaching staff is flirting around with other options, should we not expect the same? We all learned the golden rule in like what, kindergarten? When all the dust settles, I think he will be rolling with the good guys. EZ-E is probably my favorite recruit on the offesive side of things. He hits the hole with such purpose and precision. No wasted movement. I would hate to see him get lost in the sauce
This doesn't worry me. Elliot's gonna be a Buckeye when it's all said and done
I hope so!! He, along with Trey are my two fav recruits! Can't wait to see them play for the S&G.
If I'm not mistaken Krenzel is an insurance salesman. I don't think his degree in Molecular Genetics is helping in that.
Missing the point here...
"Any board that would ban 3yds is worthless"
Why did Odenigbo pick Northwestern? Because of their football program?
Though it seems like it was a long time coming, 2013 3-star WR/ATH Ryan Timmons officially has an offer from Ohio State (which by every indications seems as though it's committable). This might say as much about what Timmons brings to the table as it does about where the Buckeyes stand in the pursuits of James Clark and Dontre Wilson.
On the upside in that regard, Urban Meyer was in Florida yesterday to try and talk Clark into taking an official visit to Ohio State after all, and by all accounts that seems to have been a riveting success ($). Clark is ducking Florida, and will instead head to Columbus this weekend for an official visit. With both the Gators and Buckeyes in on Clark and Timmons, you almost have to think one might land one while the other will be left with the other.
Zeke only needs to be reminded we stopped calling Green to realize he is the only RB we are taking...
I'm not flaming at all. I just don't get this "we stopped calling Green". And I will get to my point at the end of the post. But taking a look at the following rankings from different sites:
Scout - #1 RB / #6 Overall
Rivals - #1 RB / #8 Overall
247 - #8 Running Back
ESPN - #38 Overall
Scout - #9 RB / #47 Overall
Rivals - #15 RB / #84 Overall
247 - #4 All Purpose Back
ESPN - #109 Overall
Scout - #10 RB / #50 Overall
Rivals - #17 RB / #100 Overall
247 - #7 All Purpose Back
ESPN - #55 Overall
Are some of you really telling me that if Derrick Green called up Urban Meyer today and said: "Coach, do you have a spot for me? If you do, I want to be a Buckeye"....Urban's reply would be..."sorry Derrick, you had your chance to commit a while ago"? Sorry, I have a hard time believing this.
Again, I may come across like I'm "trolling". That is not my intention at all. In fact, I want Saturday (Green's announcement date) to get here ASAP, so IF something should happen between Zeke and OSU, Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrbs doesn't make a phone call to Derrick and have him postpone his announcment date.HAHAHA...how sad...paranoid about an 18 year old kids decision about where he is going to play his college ball....hahaha
Green didn't fit your system or needs...he is similar to Dunn. I think the coaches made that decision and went forward.
I think Wilson was just a lucky stroke...but kind of sucks for Elliott.
EE's dad is a member of Bucknuts and posts on the front row. The kid is all Buckeye.
green and dunn are essentially the same running back and the coaching staff didnt want two straight years of similar player.
People had a hard time believing the earth wasn't flat...didn't make it true so because you can't believe we passed on Green doesnt mean we didn't yeah sure put up the rankings but I know this to be a fact you would just hate the fact we passed on a guy you so desperately want and need.
Not to mention we have Hyde,Smith,Dunn,Ball all with similar running styles and I was never that high on Green anyway truth is we did pass. initially went hard after him but passed if you don't believe it don't but that's a fact I was a VIP during this time and it's no need to make things up we need speedy versatile backs not a power back at this time.
If you are truly trying not to come across as trolling, you're failing miserably.
My answer to your question is honestly I don't know -- we stopped recruiting Green a long time ago. Insiders indicate that we were tired of the dramaqueen act he displays (similar to Robert Foster, although in fairness Foster had other problems of an academic and off-the-field nature). If he all of a sudden called Urban and said he wanted to be a Buckeye it wouldn't shock me if we took him simply because of his ranking as you pointed out, but I would actually lean toward Urban telling him we don't have room. We don't NEED a RB. We do need receivers and we do need OL.

I sure hope so. I am really looking forward to seeing him in our offense.
We have Hyde, Smith and Dunn. These guys are smash mouth RB's. Smith and Dunn I think both have a little more shiftiness than Hyde....Hyde will just flat out run you over and keep going.
IMO and not saying I'm right......I think Meyer is liking having that type of back. He didn't have that type of back while he was at Florida. Watching the way we closed out some games....I think Meyer likes having the versatility of throwing a Hall, Elliot or Marshall type of APB in there to open up a lot of options...but he also likes being able to run the ball down the opponents throat...especially in picking up those crucial 1st downs to close out the game.
Dunn potentially has 3 more years technically speaking.....so I look for UFM to recruit a 'Green' type RB in the 2014 class.
Although Green is a great recruit for anyone to pick up.....he does't necessarily fit a position of need for us at this time.
Then give him our love and tell him the folks here in Bucknuts' cheap seats are looking forward to watching his son play in the S&G!
Timmons, Marshall, Jacobs...all WR/ATH...hmmm...instead of the "Harvin" position, why don't we start calling it the "Wrath" position?
With apologies to statesman John C. Calhoun, "beware the WR/ATH of a patient adversary."
I'll let someone else do that. He doesn't post that much anyway.
Stacy Elliott is going to be on FRR today...12413...\o/
Honestly, if someone is becoming a doctor for the money, they'd be better off selling insurance. The money is better in the insurance gig, after 15 years you don't have to work anymore, live off residuals and referrals....and no med school loans to pay off. With all the changes in healthcare, you won't see too many people going into med school for the money they can make anymore.
I AM a doctor...and approve this message.
