See how unstoppable that old man-football / Boring conservative football is ? Mixed in with a little PA and little passing?
Good thing we have Hyde, Rod Smith, Dunn & Warren Ball.
you guys so obsessed with the whole shifty back, juke everyone..when you face the Big boys those guys get their teeth knocked out.
Do you know what a co-worker told me before the title game? I was like Mante Teo will help stop the run" his reply Bama's running backs are bigger than Teo ..Boy he was so right.
Everyone wants to talk speed, what it really is is physicality and leverage.
Too logical, too obvious, too simple, therefore unacceptable to this board...
it's very exciting with two first round running backs and 5 first/second round lineman
ND went to title game without a HB ..who the F is riddick?
funniest thing is if you use rivals ratings, look at how many 3 star lineman they have on their roster. about 70% of their o line roster are guys who were 3 stars coming out of high school. proving again, coaching of the offensive line might be the most important position coach in all of college football.
that's a shot a warriner..Bucknuts adores him. I don't think you should go there...
By the way BAma's O line would be over-weight..just how bollman likes them. Size
I don't think G2B was taking a shot at Warriner? Most of the Ohio State fanbase loves him after the mess he inherited and ultimately turned around.
Also on the topic of Dave, I don't think people hated Dave so much as they hated the predictable play-calling. The previous staff had a bad habit of calling Dave on 1st down far too often and running into way more guys than the OL could block.
I think it was more of a shot at the 'Walrus' than Warriner, as seen by the vast improvement of the line this year.
We ran the ball in the A gap as well as anyone considering our PA pass was almost non existent
Dave does not work with Lydell Ross, Mo Hall and fat under-coached linemen. we are in a different place in time and the dynamics are now set for both talent and coaching for years to come.
How firm thy friendship O-HI-O
Who hates "Dave"? I think it's an excellent movie. Kevin Kline was great.
i think warriner might be one of the best offensive line coaches in the entire country, by no means was i taking a shot at him. it was more of the fact of how important that position is. our former coach, walrus, landed 3 5 stars in one single classs, and outside of mike adams, the other 2 regressed nearly every season.
Alabama's opponents keep falling into Kirby Smart and Nick Saban's defensive strategy like flies into a spider's web: stop the run and force the QB to beat them with his arm. They executed that plan to perfection against LSU in the NC last year (39 rushing yards), they did it to scUM (69 rushing yards), and they did it to Golson and ND (32 rushing yards).
The one they didn't do it to was Johnny Football and TAMU (165 rushing yards). Manziel was 24-of-31 passing for 253 yards, two TDs and zero INTs. He also rushed for 92 yards.
If we want to beat Alabama, it's going to depend on our ability to run the football because if we can't, we're in trouble.
How was ND going to run the ball without a HB.. they tired to do the Manziel short throw stuff.. what a game plan ..not when Gholson is passing..Brian Kelly's dumbass..
How do you go to a title game without a HB ?
Ohh I get you now...but Warriner recruited those 3* guys on Notre dame's line that got blew up.. Warriner is now coaching bollmans 3* per say.. so you might have inadvertently taken a shot..

One only needs to look at Wisconsin to see that OL coaching is huge.
"Dave?" It just goes to show us just how bad Bollman really was!
That guy couldnt suck enough...
do you not understand what im saying? i dont care if he recruited 3 stars who were blown up last night, he wasnt coaching those guys. he clearly knows how to coach, im not going to hold it against him for what his former players did. you sound like a florida fan right now blaming meyer for for leaving them with "scraps"
Cannot compare the two. Our "dave" wasn't netting over 4 ypc.
Saying Alabama's power play was like OSU's power play is being more than a little dishonest and is massively glossing over certain facts.
People didn't like the dive play because it didn't work. We typically gained 2 yards and on good days 3. Nothing wrong with power football when it works.

You mean how bad Jim Tressel was don't you. He was Bollman's boss who kept him around. By the way, if Tatgate hadn't happened and Tressel was still here, so would Bollman.
Our Dave also didn't have the threat of an nfl future qb throwing to nfl future wide receivers
probably not the QB , But the Wrs are in the NFL..
yea but when we had those WR's Dave worked.
Tress won a BCS title , he is above reproach..accomplish something in life..then you can talk. Other than that Shut the fuck up.
