As I have said before, think this had to do with test scores not meeting what the admissions office was looking for.
If he couldn't get in, he couldn't get in. Too bad. Now bring on Mr. Clark.
The writing was on the wall for all to read. All of the recent WR offers pointed to Gibson not coming to OSU. Too bad as I think he is going to be a good player. Plan B/C kids unless UM can get a flip.
Funny that WVU is happy to take in someone who still couldn't make the academic cut at OSU when I'm sure everything possible was done to help him out. Some people have standards, some don't.
Hold on. Timeout. Is it possible Shelton Gibson's commitment to WVU has been greatly exaggerated?
From ESPN, time-stamped 7:25 pm ET: "Jeff Rotsky says his star receiver is not committed anywhere just yet. Rivals.com reported Wednesday that Cleveland Heights (Ohio) receiver Shelton Gibson committed to West Virginia, but the ESPN 300 recruit's coach says that it is not the case."

Beat me to it Iowa. I saw it too. IMO Gibson is still not likely for OSU.
This reminds me of Robert Foster, who returned from a recruiting trip to Alabama and tweeted that he'd made a decision on which school he planned to attend, then his coach stepped in and said he hadn't, then Foster put himself on a Twitter ban. A month or two later, he picked Alabama.
Where there's smoke, there's fire: whatever's going on, I'm inclined to agree with you and expect him to not choose OSU and most likely go to WVU.
Damn! That sucks.

You are the type of fan that gives tOSU a bad name. Eat your crow #$%&!*.
"West Virginia commit Shelton Gibson has been the target of some abuse from over-zealous fans on Twitter lately, and the four-star wide receiver wants to explain his side of the story...
The West Virginia commit has been the subject of ridicule and derisive comments from a segment of fans not happy with his choice of where to play college football...
"I just want to get my story out there, because I want the truth out there for everyone to read," Gibson stated. "I have a lot of people saying... that Ohio State dropped me because I will never qualify academically...
"When I first started getting offers, every school checked out my transcript and everything has always been fine..."Everyone thought it was about grades, but that wasn't it at all," ...
"I still talk to coaches from all four schools, and none of them have dropped me, including Ohio State," Gibson stressed. "I talked with them (Ohio State) last week and they said they do not know where the story is coming from that they dropped me, because they told me they didn't at all."...
"The bottom line for me is that I love all four schools, and know I could be happy at all of them, but West Virginia is the right place for me," "For the Ohio State fans, there was never anything bad about their school at all. I just felt real comfortable with West Virginia. ... It's just best for me to get away from home and grow into a man. I hope people understand."
it's funny that everyone seems to be cool about osu commit zeke elliott visiting missouri but got upset when gibson, who'd never committed, picked west virginia.
Because fan is short for fanatic
i thought it was short for fan dancer
Well it's easy where things like this come from....Fans that can't admit a kid just doesn't want to go to their school start making excuses to make themselves feel better....So an 18 year old didn't choose OSU, big deal! There are plenty of schools out there, many are better acedemically and some are better for football...it's sad and ridiculous that fans start stupid things that make a kid look bad just because they can't handle him wanting to go somewhere else.
I will be perfectly happy with whatever class Urban brings in, as it is his job and reputation on the line I'm sure he's better at it than any of us. Can't imagine a single day of my life being ruined based on where a kid decides to go to school...
