" Lloyd Carr's teams won five Big Ten titles and the 1997 national championship after beating Washington State in the Rose Bowl. In addition, Michigan was ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 for all but nine of its games under Carr (all occurring in 1998, 2005, and 2007). Only once during his tenure did Michigan end its season unranked (2005). Carr became the first Wolverine coach to win four straight bowl games, beating Auburn, 31–28, in the 2001 Citrus Bowl, after leading Michigan to victories in the 1998 Rose Bowl, 1999 Citrus Bowl, and the 2000 Orange Bowl."
Hey...we ended up loving Lloyd Carr...let's not go insulting him just yet.....after all, he was able to win a conference championship....5 times!! Carr lasted 13 seasons.....
Something Hoke has yet to do just once!! LOL...
I seriously doubt Hoke will be at scUM 10 years from now....
Wonder how long before he starts crying that Urban has a recruiting advantage because we don't have a bowl game.
I get what you're saying....
But you have to look at some things here.
1st We're talking about scUM right. Other than tOSU....scUM is considered the other door to winning a NC according to B1G Ten historians...especially when talking about Bo and Woody. Hoke's record at Ball State is not really that impressive. 4-8, 2-9, 4-7,5-7 (note this is 4 years at this point....you put a record together like that your 1st 4 years at tOSU or scUM in the past and you are gone!) 7-6 his 5th year and then 12-1 his 6th year (but blew it in the MAC title game). His record while at San Diego State is less than desirable for any top program....
I really think you are missing that point.....doesn't matter who's coaching TTUN, we're not going to like them. You need to get over that....and understand that his is not a 1st choice coach. While he may be an average, serviceable coach....the point most on here are trying to make is that he has proven himself to be average.
If he somehow manages to stand the test of time, win some conference championship games...make it to more BCS bowls...maybe that will change. But for now...he's average at best.
Agreed, Hoke is not even a Llllllloyd Carr. I was referring to his record vs Tress.
Patrick : "What do you think about the Ohio State hire?" Hoke: "Not...not good"
I agree with you the only thing tho is how long will Meyer stay? I'm not sure he stays here longer then JT did i'm thinking like around 5-6 years win a few NC's then go do something else he has always done that. Hope i'm wrong and he stays longer because he really can do great things here.
His contract is 6 years total I believe, but will undoubtedly be extended for as long as he wants as long as we are doing well.
Love the Jabba pic. I am really hoping for a giant banner in the Outhouse next year that says "Viva Jabba" (or something more clever) just like the "Viva Rodriguez" banner from a few years ago.
Yeah this pace I hope he can hang on to his job for a few more years,,,,,
I was really hoping others would rip on FreddyHoke some more it was some real good funny stuff.
