I'm not joking either...they may be the best team in the country, but their schedule has been a complete joke. Their "best" win was last night and the only reason it looks good is because Mississippi State has played a Division 6 OHSAA schedule. They have played 2 Sun Belt Teams, 4 of the worst SEC teams (Ark, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Mizzou), Mississippi State (who won't finishing the season in the top 25), and Michigan. They have dodged the four best teams in the conference so far (LSU, UF, UGA, S.Carolina).
As I said, they may be the best in the country, but they haven't had to prove it like ND or K State.

Not sure why you are LOL'ing.
What part of my post is amusing? That Bama may in fact be the best team in the country? Or maybe the fact that their schedule has been laughable? Or that K State and ND have played much more difficult schedules than Bama and have won every game?
All of the above are within reason. If I were a voter and going by who has earned it this year, Bama hasn't...yet.
Cookiemonster...you cant be serious. There is no one even close to Alabama...they are killing everyone they play. They are a complete package.
They are killing everyone they play...but who have they played?!??!?!
Have they gone on the road against a tough opponent? No.
Have they played an above average team? Questionable, but no.
Hell, I would argue that we have a better quality win (@ Penn State and/or home vs. Nebraska) than they do (not comparing us to them, they would beat us, so don't go there).
Fact is, they have not had to prove they are #1. ND and K-State have done more against better opponents. Period. You can't argue that. We can argue who the best team is, which I believe is Bama, but they have not had to prove it against good/great teams.

They are the defending national champions and until beaten they should remain #1. Don't like it, then knock them off. I hate Alabama but you can't knock the king out of his castle without beating him and right now they are the king
No good team has had a chance to knock them off...this isn't the NFL playoffs.
Plus, yes, they are the defending champs. They didn't win their divison or conference and the fact that they were in that game last year was questionable. Two other teams had just as strong a claim as they did. And last year was last year. If we went on year's past, ND, OSU, Michigan, Nebraska, TX, Bama, and OK would make up the top 7 annually regardless of how good they are.
Defending champs gives them the preseason #1 until they prove they don't deserve it.
They have yet to prove they don't deserve it.
To your point, their schedule has been very friendly thus far, but they've done what they're supposed to do in taking care of business while looking extremely deep, better coached and like a team with very few to no weaknesses in every game.
They're in a class of their own right now, and Saturday will either solidify that or shock us all.
The game is won in the trenches and alabama may have the best offensive line in the nation and a very good defensive line. I don't see another team in the country that talented on both sides of the ball.
They play LSU next, I 'd guess they'll beat them by multiple scores too.
