Yep. it's more then possible. As a Kent State alum I'd love this. Is it fair? Hell no, they got crushed by 33 points to an awful Kentucky team. But bowl games are pure exhibition and good for Hazell. Here's the senrio. Kent is 17 in the BCS, if they beat N. Illinois in the MAC Championship who's ranked 21 in the BCS and move up to 16 because of the BCS rules they would be the highest ranked non-BCS conference team. And if they finish in the top 16 and ahead of a BCS conference Champ..i.e..the Big East champ which they already are ahead. They get a bid to the BCS. Take in count that the 15th ranked team is UCLA who will probably lose again to Standford friday, they will drop leaving the 16 spot wide open for Kent to sneak in and steal a bid. How awesome would that be, just to show how screwed up the BCS is. I bet if this happens coach Hazell will be on everyone's short list for coach.
I hope he stays one more year, they get to play PSU next year and I'd LOVE for Hazell and KSU to put a hurtin on PSU.
Wait a minute. Kentucky beat them by 33? All that tells me is that Kentucky deserves to be in the top 10 of the BCS. Just kidding.
Kentucky isn't in the top 10???? I thought the rule was to have all SEC teams in the top 15. What is this world coming to, how dare them put Kent St in there and not a SEC team.
Why not? They as just as deserving as the B1G teams going to bowl games.
As a Kent State alum myself, I am very happy for this program. They deserve all the consideration they can get. Going 11-1 is such an amazing accomplishment and will do wonders for Coach Hazell and his program. I will be wearing my blue and gold proudly this week.

Yep, if they finish in the Top 16 and win their conference, they'll have qualified. But that doesn't mean they'll get in one, though.
But Kent State controls its own destiny. Can you imagine Kent State playing Oregon or K-State? That is NOT at all what CFB's power brokers want.
Well, they ARE an $EC team!
Lord knows, being an $EC team, UK could put a huritn' on any B1G team.
M-A-C!! M-A-C!! M-A-C!!
Kent State to the Orange Bowl to upset the ACC chump, I mean champ.
"Coaches who can outline plays on a black board are a dime a dozen. The ones who win get inside their players heads and motivate them."
There's a match made in ratings heaven. But at least the Orange Bowl gets the NC so not all is lost.
It was destiny for them to win the MAC 40 years after the last time they had. But unfortunately, they couldn't seize the moment.
If only the defensive side could've clamped down just a bit more it would've been them and not NIU playing in the Orange Bowl.
Nonetheless either Minnesota or Purdue needs to pursue him. Because if not, he could very well take his talents to the South. And that's something that we in this region can ill afford: the prospect of another northern born and bred coaching talent building up another $EC power.
