What are we expecting ? with our young team and their body types..
I know some players are natural weight room rats ..some just don't like weights and only do the mandatory workouts..
Personally, I'd love to see CJ Barnett, Christian Bryant get Bigger .also Carlos Hyde take building his body seriously like Beanie Wells..
What do you guys expect from Marriotti year 2 ..?
Too logical, too obvious, too simple, therefore unacceptable to this board...
priority #1's got to be the dl and lbs--bigger, stronger, faster.

I expect the O-line to get even nastier and have one of the top rushing attacks in the nation and possibly the best. I hope that some of the younger LBs and D-line physically mature. I'd like to see Spence at a ripped up 250-255. I'd Like to see Bennet Convert some fat to muscle. I'd like to see Curtis Grant lean out. I want to see guys like Perkins, Marcus, Perry all bulk up a little. I'd like to see Shazier add another 7-10 lbs of lean muscle. Now don't say you wanna see Shazier gain more that 10lbs of lean muscle; it would take unnatural and illegal methods to do that. Next time you're at the grocery store find a pound of lean meat and imagine putting 10 times that on your body.. that's a f*ck ton of muscle.
I agree with you on Barnett and Bryant--esp Barnett. I look at Alabama's Safeties and those on the rosters of some other $EC schools and I notice defined muscle tone.
I see little of that on this roster outside of Shazier.
I think most of these body types, its either the player must love the wieght room or the seniors established the culture or there is alot of peer pressure to have a defined muscle tone in the program..
When I was in High School I hated weights only did the mandatory and only got competitive when I was challenged by teammates , which really helped, lifted much more than I ever thought I could..
But guys like Devin Smith & Corey Brown, I doubt we will see them really ripped..
But Rod Smith loves the his weights, if only Carlos Hyde could follow suit..
Back to the topic about Bama Safeties .. not really, its their HBs am very impressed with, Yeldon & richardson started in High School , Lacy also ..But Richardson is the guy that puts up 450 bench or squat or something ..not sure..
Ingram not really, But in the future the guys you will see defined are
Marcus, Ball, Perkins & especially Perry .. maybe Washington .. Ron Tanner is still a tooth-pick..
Grant is very solid a real physical , he just doesn't play with no confidence at all . the whole he doesn't know the playbook thing was coach speak..
I am no coach but he got benched during the Cal game.. He wasn't making any calls or reading plays or taking seeking the ball.. He wouldn't even take a chance to be wrong..just timid and waiting for the play to come to him..
so he always got blocked.
i would like to see the continued culture of offensive lineman in shape where they dont look like total slobs.
I take it you don't like the Bama o line..
I want to see the DL to get after the QB. More pressure will help the DB's in coverage.
Need to get Spence, Washington. and the rest to put A LOT more pressure on the QB. DB's won't have to stay in coverage for so long.
Amen brother, I was saying the same thing all season long. Although they played well at times, I'd say or dl failed to live up to the expectations/hype we had going in. We were ranked 40th in sacks, by comparison we ranked 101st in sacks given up! Thats giving up more than twice the amount of pain we dished out. We also need to work more on getting our hands up and batting down some balls.

Marotti's program while helping several players, obviously, also really shaved some guys down.
Question is, what is the blueprint for another Diesel?
Depending on who or which reports you believe, Adolphus put on as much as 60 pounds, and didn't lose a step. Sure some of that is obviously the athlete himself. But if it can be done with him.....
As far as Carlos. He can sit with Brutus, and the cheerleaders, and eat corndogs all day for all I care.
Don't mess with that formula.
"Any board that would ban 3yds is worthless"
umm yeah, they all are fucking jacked/ripped for offensive lineman. i think ours looked like they were in great shape this season, i just want that to continue is all. lineman like decker, lisle, kyle dodson and a few other guys are all in pretty damn good shape for just coming into college.
